Vintage Products

I have been discovering in the last year or so, and much to my amazement, that there are also many younger people who like to reminisce and enjoy seeing things and discussing stuff about days gone by.  I was pleasantly surprised to learn this.

I was on the bus one day when a couple of young men (in their 20's) that were discussing how much they enjoy music and other things from the 1930's and 1940's!  I was intrigued.  It seems as though I am not the only one who likes decades "before my time", so to speak.  :)

I am going to share with you all today some vintage product ads.  It seems that I never tire of discussing vintage so I hope you all enjoy it as well.  The first product I am sharing here is one that I didn't even know existed...until I saw this ad.  Coca Cola gum!  It is quite an old ad and isn't very clear...but clear enough for you to see, therefore I am posting it anyway.

This next product is another that I didn't even know existed until I saw this ad.  I know about Del Monte and am quite familiar with their canned goods as well as great juices...however, I had no idea they were in the soda/soft drink business.  I have never seen any drinks in my area by them...at least none that I recall!

This next ad is for A&P Grocer teas.  I vaguely remember the A&P grocers;  however, only vaguely, as I was young when they were here and they seemed to disappear before I realized that I never really knew much about them.  The nectar tea sounds interesting, and I had never heard about nectar tea until I saw this A&P ad.  As far as the initials "A" and "P" go, as I recall, this stood for "Atlantic" and "Pacific."

This last ad is for Etch-a-Sketch.  My parents bought me one of these when I was a little girl...and I spent many an enjoyable hour with it.  Great childhood memories here.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  Please feel free to share your thoughts and memories by clicking on the "comments" link at the end of my post.

  4. The Del Monte drinks are wild, I never knew about them!! But I have sure been in the A & P's!! And the Etch A Sketch, they are still sold in most places, they have updated ones now that will draw curves as well as straight lines. I tried one and didn't like the way it worked, so didn't buy it. It has not been getting good reviews. The old one remains the best, so I say you can't mess with a good thing!

  5. Coca Cola gum! Huh? Del Monte cans peaches and green beans. Pop? I doubt it. Now I did had an etch a sketch at the beginning of my failed art career..... What fun. :)

  6. Mornin' Linda! Did you know there's a app for iPad that is like an etch-a-sketch. I used to play with one of those when I was a kid.

Pepsin gum we remember but not the Coca-Cola brand and of course, A & P is a very familiar name. Did not know, either, that Del Monte made sodas...

I really enjoy these "vintage" posts. Even if they reinforce my own "vintageness." :-)

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Hi Lowell, I didn't know about the app for iPad...but I am still in the dark in much of the new technology. I am not surprised that there is one, though. Glad to hear it.
