Update and Thank You!

Hi everyone,

I wanted to make a post to update you all as well as to thank you so much for your continued prayers and kind comments.  Diverticulitis, I am discovering, is a slow healing process...well, it is for myself.  I have learned that, even though two people can have the same exact disorder, the healing process for each individual is different and not to judge someone.

I am still feeling quite tired, weak and a little nauseous, but I am taking one day at a time, eating smaller meals more often and have added much more fruits and veggies to my regime.

I felt that this was a wake up call for me, so I am doing my best to take care of myself as best I can.  The healing process for me, as I mentioned, is slow, but I am patient and have been giving it all to God, the Great Physician.

Thank you all so much once again...sending you all love and hugs.  I am still on a temporary computer loaned to me by some dear friends.  Hopefully I will have my own back shortly.

Update after Scan

Hi everyone,

Thank you all so much for your comments on my posts, I really appreciate it.  I got the scan done today and was at the hospital for about 5 hours.  I just got home an hour ago and am totally exhausted.

I am to continue on the antibiotics for another ten days but if I feel pain again I have been told to go right back to the hospital.

The scan showed cells on my kidney (I have only one kidney...the left one since I was four years of age).  As a result of the cells that displayed themselves on the scan, I have a couple more follow ups within the next several weeks.  They want to ensure that my kidney is functioning properly and that there are no complications.

In case any of you are wondering why I had my right kidney removed at the tender age of four?  It was I guess you can say rotted.  The doctors told my parents that I had a 50% chance to live if they DID remove that kidney.  However, if they did not remove the kidney I would surely die.  Thank God my parents told them to remove the kidney...and I am here with you all today.

Thank you all so much once again, I just wanted to keep you all informed.

A News Update

Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you all so much for continuing to check out my blog, especially since I have had computer issues and have been unable to come to visit you all.  I greatly appreciate your kindness and support.

As far as my health goes....the pain has subsided for now, but I am still feeling nauseous.  I am at this time having a light breakfast of toast and a couple of glasses of water in preparation to go and have the X-ray/scan.  I am feeling pretty tired and weak but am relieved that the pain has subsided.

It is thanks to a couple of very dear friends that I am able to do this post, as my computer totally died and they have loaned me their laptop so that I can communicate with my friends.  I hope to be up and running shortly.

Your prayers and thoughts on my behalf are most appreciated.  I will keep you all updated as things progress.
Love and hugs to you all....and thank you so much!

An Afternoon & Evening Walk

I took a nice walk late afternoon/early evening and thought I would bring my camera with me.

This was a tree but I found it interesting with the little orange fruit on it.

This next photo was a sign I saw...it means "open, Quebec corn."  There are two terms used to describe corn on the cob in French.  One is "mais", the other is "ble d'inde".  Quebec corn is beautiful...two coloured and sweet.

I took these last photos at dusk.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I hope you have all enjoyed these photos I took on my walk.  I really enjoy and appreciate reading your thoughts.  Please click on the "comments" link at the end of my post to share.

St. Joseph's Oratory, Montreal (Part 4)

While I was sitting down enjoying the Montreal views from St. Joseph's Oratory I came across this seagull who was also enjoying the views...so I captured this photo of him.  :)

Asking for Your Prayers and Thoughts...

Hi everyone,

I just spent nine (9) hours today at the emergency ward at the hospital.  I had been having pains in my stomach for two days which did not go away.  I was given a blood and urine test and it was discovered that I have diverticulitis.  I also have to go back to the hospital for an X-Ray/scan on Monday.

Please keep me in your prayers and thoughts.  I am on antibiotics for 4 days beginning tonight.

Thank you all so much.

St. Joseph's Oratory, Montreal (Part 3)

All these photos are taken in the prayer garden.  It is a beautiful and peaceful place with lots of birds and squirrels who seem to really enjoy it...and who can blame them?  :)  I took just one photo of the many statues that can be found in this garden.  I hope you are all enjoying this tour.  Thank you all so much for visiting me here.  I so enjoy and appreciate reading your thoughts.  Please click on the "comments" link at the end of my post to share.

St. Joseph's Oratory, Montreal

It was a really beautiful day, so I decided to go up to St. Joseph's Oratory on Mount Royal...and took a nice walk around there and got plenty of photos to share with you all.  Incidentally, the photo that you see on my header at this time is St. Joseph's Oratory.  I took that particular photo last summer, if I remember accurately.  If it wasn't last summer it was the summer of 2010.

As for the photos I am sharing with you now, I took these today, (Sunday, August 12th).  There were several tour buses there when I went, and two were from New York and one was from Florida.  Hope you all enjoy the photos I took.

These tour buses were from New York.

Here is another tour bus...not sure where this one was from, though.

I deliberately took photos of the oratory at different angles...it is a beautiful, amazing place!

The next two photos are of the bell tower.  It was playing when I was there, and the music is lovely!

I took this photo to give you all an idea of the beautiful views of Montreal that can be observed from the Oratory.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I have many more photos of St. Joseph's Oratory that I took and will share with you all over the next several posts.  I hope you all enjoy this series and "tour".  I really appreciate and enjoy reading your thoughts.  Please click on the "comments" link at the end of my post to share.

My Good Friend's Garden in the Rain

Since we had such humid and difficult days here with no rain I decided to celebrate and come out of hibernation by going out and taking a lovely walk in the light, refreshing rain!  The air smells so fresh and clean and I just love it.  What a relief!  I hope you all enjoy these photos that I took of my good friend's garden in the rain.  Great job on your garden, K & A!  :)
For my fellow bloggers: It appears that I am already "following" a few blogs, but to be honest, I had no idea until today.  I feel a little silly, but I discovered it when I "logged in" to my blog. If one is not logged out, how does one see the new posts of the blogs that one follows?  Thanks so much and I hope you all like these photos.  :)
