Christmas Displays from Last Year

I have been hesitant to share my night photos thus far, because I am, for the most part, disappointed in them.  I don't have a lot of experience taking photos at night, but I have taken several.  The photos I am sharing in this post are from last Christmas...and I took them all at night.  They were Christmas displays of some homes as well as a store window one.  I have chosen the best ones, so I hope you all enjoy them.

The video I have chosen for this post is a Berenice Abbott 1898.  Hope you all enjoy the journey back in time both with the video and my year old photos.  :)

This first photo was of the Christmas display of a city hall.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I really appreciate and enjoy reading your thoughts...which you can always share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  2. I don't know if your camera is auto or not, but I think mine has a setting for night shots WITHOUT a flash.

    1. Hi Gorges, I tried that setting but it didn't help me. LOL! It is lack of experience, really, on my part, so I just posted these that turned out O.K. I no longer have that Kodak, though, I am using a Polaroid now. I will experiment with this one, but it does have the auto setting.

  5. It's hard to believe Christmas is almost here again. You did a good job with the night photos. I think the most important thing for good night photos is to use a tripod.

Loved the video. Took me right back to the "good ol' days." Well, I wasn't very old in 1938 but still...

  13. Linda, Nice photos! I don't even try to take night photos... Are these all from the Montreal area? I haven't been to Montreal for 38 years... Yes to Nova Scotia, PEI, New Brunswick, British Columbia...and I have family in Ontario. Time to take my better half on a road trip...in the late spring of this coming year. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
