Mid-Week Fun!

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all! The videos I have selected for this post are:

Dog Saves Veteran from Suicide

Baby Laughing  :)

Cat Soothes Crying Baby to Sleep

For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

Life is better when you're laughing.  :)

Telling someone with anxiety to just calm down is like telling someone with epilepsy to just stop having a seizure.

Before you speak:  think.  Is is true?  Is it helpful?  Is it inspiring?  Is it necessary?  Is it kind?

Plant your dreams and grow a life you love.

Sometimes all you need is a little change in perspective...

You know it's hot when...  :)

Hugging is powerful medicine.  Studies show it reduces depression, anxiety and high blood pressure. And it's yummy medicine - with no side effects (except goosebumps on occasion)  :)

Appreciate those who don't give up on you.

You're more than the mistakes you've made.  You are the wisdom, strength, compassion and growth you've gained from all you have been through.

Think how much more you could accomplish if you channeled all that energy you spend on worry into habits which move you forward.

Often the people with the most beautiful hearts are the ones who have endured the greatest pain.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share!

  13. Such a tender story about the dogs and the veterans. And is there anything more infectious than an baby's laugh? I found the video of the cat touching the crying baby interesting. Can't help wondering what was going on in the cat's mind. Love the Meanwhile in Canada. I think it's been hot enough here lately to melt some of those cones.

  17. Another very enjoyable post, Linda! Dogs are such wonderful creatures (for the most part) and I always felt our Golden Retriever helped us through rough times with the love she gave us. The baby laughing is a riot, but what got me was that wee yacht! I'd love to play with that but couldn't afford it, I'm sure. The other problem I see is that it probably would not do too well in rough seas. But it's a beauty and looks like a lot of fun.

Have a great Wednesday, my friend!

  20. Just an amazing post, Linda! Of course, the veteran/dog video was so powerful to me who knew many paralyzed Vietnam vets and others with less obvious injuries. That baby laughing ~ Can anything give one more hope (and laughter!)! And the cat! I've been getting massages for some two decades now to help control the fibromyalgia pain I've had over the years. My friend and masseuse has this wonderful cat, Angel, who comes running every time I come for an appointment. Kathi takes extra time warming up the rice bags before my massage, because Angel likes to jump up on the table and cuddle with me. She rubs my cheek with hers and purrs. I understand something of that baby's comforting by the kittie! You outdid yourself with inspiration today! I hope you have a wonderful day, my special Montreal friend!

  28. Hi Linda. I promised to come and visit and I have been looking every day or so. I particularly love your dog videos although this one was rather harrowing. It reminded me of how my dog helped me after I lost my husband when he'd had a heart attack and a stroke. Thank you.

  42. Hi, Linda! I couldn't help but laugh at your fun sentiment "Life is better when you are laughing". I especially laugh even "at" myself when my hand-eye coordination isn't working, or when I'm not capable of doing very much. If I don't laugh, I will be disappointed and feel useless. Laughing helps me put myself into perspective - as to how fortunate I am. But then, that's just me LOL

Thanks for posting that thing about anxiety, too. In our culture these days, lots of people suffer from anxiety or anxious days, and we all cope differently. To patronize someone by telling them they should calm down is not helpful at all. It actually produces more anxiety, I think!

Try to stay cool during your drought and heat. Hope all is well, Linda! hugs, de
