I have loved looking at your pictures and scrolled through them twice! What is the Oratory? It is a wonderful picture. And that bird feeder, it is the size of a small lighthouse, a real one! Or is that just an illusion? So many interesting things to see here today, I am glad to see your blog expanding!
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny,
DeleteThank you so much for your comment. You are very kind! The St. Joseph's Oratory is a Catholic cathedral situated on Montreal's Mount Royal. It is quite a tourist attraction here...it has splendid architecture. I will share more photos of it on upcoming blogs. The bird feeder is pretty much the size of a lighthouse. I have seen some birds fly into it, but haven't quite caught the knack for getting shots of small and fast birds...as yet. LOL!
De très belles photos ... Une jolie publication.
ReplyDeleteGros bisous
I love that big building (the Oratory).
ReplyDeleteDuring my working days, I visited most of those places. Too bad about the nonsense going on now, though!
ReplyDeleteHi Ian, yes, it is. (assuming you are referring to the student protests). Hopefully this will be resolved and it ends soon. Many Montrealers, including myself, are fed up with it.
DeleteThank you for sharing these as they give me a better idea of some of Montreal's treasures. I probably mentioned to you I was in Montreal one time, back in the mid-70s, for a meeting. We stayed downtown and I remember being quite enchanted with what I saw as a charming city, but for the life of me, I can't remember much more than that!
ReplyDeleteI think I shall have to visit again some time!
The best for me is, the one by the waterfront, a place for the "Purple Martin".
ReplyDeleteI have fond memories of visiting and eating out in this beautiful city many decades ago... :)
ReplyDeleteThe Oratory is beautiful! Great perspective too.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your wonderful photos. I've never been to Montreal. I'd love to visit sometime.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos. The pros don't do it any better. Montreal has not been among my journeys. It needs to be on the itinerary.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, you have a great eye for photography, great shots.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit to my Blog and kind comments.
Thank you for these glimpses of Montreal. I visited Montreal many years ago, but I didn't see the Oratory, but after seeing your photo I wish I had.
ReplyDeletereminds me of being 16 and hitching a ride on the Rideau from Ottawa to Montreal!
ReplyDeleteAloha from Honolulu
