Wow, life's hard when you're up a tree!! Super photos you have, that snow, and the bushy tail, lovely. Cheers from Jean.
ReplyDeleteI've feeling a little uninformed right now. I didn't know that woodpeckers stored nuts in the holes they drilled. I always thought they were just eating what they could find in the tree. I wouldn't have had the nerve of that squirrel to try to steal the nuts.
ReplyDeleteYour squirrel shots are very nice. I really like the last one.
I did not know woodpeckers gathered nuts either -- - - and stored them! I thought they just ate bugs. Who knew that squirrels thought they could win with a bird as tough as that woodpecker. Very, very interesting video.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing as well

ReplyDeleteThose squirrels are big and handsome fellows. They must be bigger than Finnish squirrels.
Interesting video and great photos!
ReplyDeleteSurvival is tough for our friends in nature. Both squirrels and woodpeckers are great survivors.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Linda.
Me gustan esas fotos de las ardillas. Yo no he conseguido fotografiarlas bien en la naturaleza, tengo que aprender. Un abrazo,

ReplyDeleteSquirrels can be quite funny. Until they eat the heads off your tulips! Or get in your attic. ;)

Regards :)
That was a great video! And your photos of squirrels are nice. I haven't been fortunate to capture them in action like you did.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet squirrel and lovely video
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend :)
Good video between two nut rivals. You must have the green woodpecker too in North America as that's the cartoon one with it's distinctive Ya- ha- ha- ha- ha call.
