ReplyDeleteI love the look on people's faces when they realize they've been part of a gag. Very funny one today. It was also nice to see Shirley Temple as a young woman. :)

ReplyDeleteHi Linda! Such goodies here today! I watched Annette Funicello walk in, and oh my gosh! Does she even have a waist??? So thin. Amazing. And I grabbed some of your images for my Twitter page. You find such inspiring things...thank you for encouraging me so much :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Ceil
Great selection!
ReplyDeleteI could sing the bridge of Mocking bird hill by memory right now. My great grandmother used to sit in her rocker on the front porch and sing it over and over!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I also remember the Lennon Sisters, since my mom was a big fan of Lawrence Welk.
ReplyDeleteGreat quotes today Linda! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThat first video is so funny! Love the George Bernard Shaw quote. So true.
ReplyDeleteNice, Linda !
ReplyDeletePhonetic Punctuation, with a Dutch tarnslation... !
Lie(f)s.
Enjoyed Shirley Temple video and the Lennon Sisters. The word seemed a simpler place back then. : )
ReplyDeleteToujours aussi agréable chez toi! Bisous tout doux et bonne soirée dans la joie!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! I'm sorry that I have fallen behind on reading your blog ~ I don't have much on-line time while I'm traveling. Your Laughs Gag had me in stitches! "The Church in the Wildwood" was sung at my mother's funeral. I remember the mad scramble we had trying to find the music and words for it. A little birch chapel in the woods in Nova Scotia was always special to my mother. There are so many great things in this post! Take care!
ReplyDeleteShirley Temple and Annette were a time of elegance, nice to see that clip and I enjoyed the Carter family singing.
ReplyDeleteHope today is a good day for you Linda.
xx
Some good advice there and the video's bring back memories of another time.

Some memories here LInda, I always loved Victor Borge's humor, subtle comedy at it's best. Learned all about the Carter family on my trip to Nashville, very influential. I don't remember the Lennon sisters, but Mockingbird Hill was a big hit in the 60's in the U.K for the Migil 5. Great stuff.
