Some of you, especially those of you who are new to my blog, may wonder why I do what I do; basically, more about myself. I do struggle with depression, as I know many of you do as well. I began this blog in February 2012, and I wanted to create a space for people to come and escape the trials and difficulties of the world! I wanted others to be able to feel comfortable, to be able to laugh, to smile, to see the bright side of life, to feel encouraged, loved and appreciated. Even watching the news we all know how much negativity and hardships there are in the world, and how that can effect us emotionally, spiritually and physically. For myself, I find it good therapy to blog, especially when I see how it is helping others! It may sound strange, but it helps me in just knowing that I am helping others in some small way to ease their stress, even if for a short time! I think that we all take in so much negativity throughout each day that it is good to counteract this with some positive! And this is what I hope that my blog posts will do for you all!
So thank you all so much for visiting, following me and for all your kind comments on my posts, it really means so much to me and makes me know that what I am doing is worth the time and effort, and I know it is. As well, your responses let me know what you like and how, if at all, it has helped you. Love and hugs to you all!
The videos I have selected for this post are:
A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire
Vibraphone Orchestra, early 1940's
Smart Grocery Shopping Tips from the CBC
It is good to see you writing a bit about yourself. Like your quote says, you are finally "unleashing your sparkle"!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your blog, this is real great video set,
ReplyDeleteI have subscribed to be advised of your new publication,
Enjoy your day
Yes, think positive, be happy - things can only get better. Believe that and you'll find things a lot more bearable. Feeling sad and depressed over anything and everything will not help in any way and it will only make one feel worse in the end.
ReplyDeleteYour nature photos are really nice.
ReplyDeleteLovely words Linda, and I know how much my blog and the friends I now have, has enriched my life in so many ways, like nothing I would have ever dreamed of.So it will be the same for you, and what we post, is comfort, love, care, support, humour, fun and maybe laughter for another. And we receive that and more in return. Your quotes are always a highlight for me, and today the last one, specially, Lovely photos. Please post more. Hugs, Jean.
ReplyDeleteYour blog brings sunshine to us readers every day. Thanks Linda!
ReplyDeleteThere's something very enchanting about small bridges - it's almost as if they lead you into a story book.

ReplyDeleteLovely fall photos.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to know more about you. You are truly helping and inspiring people in your own way. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've had any problems with depression since I started mine. I don't know if its for the same reasons as most, but it gives me some pride, challenge, and makes me forget about some of my troubles.
ReplyDeleteI think everyone should release their sparkle, Linda! You certainly do! And I enjoy your posts so much because they are always hopeful and uplifting. Depression is our family curse, and I have struggled with it throughout my life. I think that it is wonderful that people who have depression are speaking out about it more. It's helpful to know that you are not alone in struggling to push back the blackness that can be overwhelming at times. I've blogged long enough to know how much time and effort you put into your posts, and I truly appreciate it. I admit that some of my posts have been bleak, but I am determined to speak the truth about certain events in my past. Idealism is another cross I have to bear! That and a compulsion to speak out against injustice. Just call me Don Quixote! But I know I can always come here to have a belly laugh and inspiration. And you remind me that I should continue to end my comments with a good wish. So have a happy weekend, my Montreal friend!
ReplyDeleteLinda keep up what you have been doing. It has brought a smile to my face every time I visit your blog. I am glad to read a little more about you. I think we all have a little depression once in a while. Have a blessed day. Madeline
