While we all are aware of the negatives that exist in the parts of the world where we live, I wanted to focus on the positive that is found here in Québec.
Canada has provinces and territories, and Québec is one of the provinces that make up Canada. Québec is unique from the rest of Canada in that it is the only predominantly French speaking province. Québec is Canada's largest province...by area, and its motto is "Je me souviens", which means, "I remember." Québec is also known as "la belle province", which means "the pretty province".
Now, I am not a historian. I consider myself to be more of a tour guide, I suppose, but nevertheless, I hope you will enjoy this post.
Like anywhere else in the world, Québec has its fair share of talent! I am going to share some of this talent with you in this post. You are all familiar with the Just for Laughs Gags that I post here every day...these are, for the most part, done right here in Montreal, throughout Québec and they even travel the world to do them.
All the videos I am sharing today are from the talented actors and singers who are from Québec. Most of you, if not all of you, are already familiar with the Just for Laughs Gags and Celine Dion. I hope you enjoy these videos that I am sharing, and there are a couple more singers that are from Québec whose music I am sharing with you today. Thank you so much for taking time to listen to these videos.
A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire
Je Pense Encore à Toi (I Still Think of You) by Sylvain Cossette
Que je t'aime (how I love you) by Sylvain Cossette (I really like how Sylvain Cossette sings with his heart)
Aime (Love) by Bruno Pelletier (this is my favourite French song, and Bruno sings it with such passion!)
Alone - Celine Dion (this is my favourite song by Celine)

"Je me souviens"
ReplyDeleteOh I see, "souviens" means " to remember " in French, hence souvenir is "something to remember" ;)
I don't speak French but I think French adjectives follow the noun they modify, right? Then how come it's not "province belle" instead?
Le Québec et le Canada me manque. J’espère que tu continueras avec tes célébrations Québécoises. Je trouve ca sympa !

Hi Linda, What a nice celebration for Quebec. Have you been following my blog long enough to know that I am a train fan? One of my goals was to ride ViaRail's Canadian from Vancouver BC to Toronto. I finally did that in 2001. I love Canada! I did not make it all the way to Quebec on that trip but I hope to see it one of these days, and especially Montreal. In the meantime, I will look forward to things you share about Montreal and Quebec. Have a great day! John
ReplyDeleteLinda, I have been to Montreal and Quebec City, loved both cities!
