I love toile, Gingham, vintage crisp linens and aprons. I love to cook but I must admit, even though the food I cook tastes very good, my presentations are not so great. My strength lies in organizing and cleaning, but decorating is not my forte. I love vintage clothing from the 30's, 40's and 50's, and I love colours! I love vintage tablecloths and fabric napkins. I am not talented in painting, drawing or sketching, sewing, knitting or crocheting, but I love to see the creations of others who are! It's funny, because I cannot draw or paint, but I have been told I have very good taste in art. I guess I have the eye for beautiful things. My favourite artists would be: Claude Monet, Thomas Kinkade, and anything that 'takes me back to simpler times.' For those of you who are regular readers and followers of my blog, you know that I sometimes share art on my page...paintings that I like, so you have an idea of the type of art that I enjoy and like to share.
I love the ocean, so I love anything with a nautical theme...seahorse, shells, lighthouses, etc. I find the ocean to be soothing and therapeutic. Well, that is enough for this post on myself. Thank you so much for listening. :)
The videos I have chosen for this post are:

We have so much in common! I adore toile and gingham. My food is good, but I have no presentation! I have no artistic talent at all, but I can copy.

Love the Chicken Chick! It's exactly what I think every day here in this glum and grey place where I live! Haven't seen the sun in months.....

Good morning, dear Linda! I've told you this before. You and I are alike in many ways. I appreciate art but am not a skilled artist. It is the same with music and many other things. I recognize greatness when I experience it but I am not adept at reproducing it. Mrs. Shady and I both favor Impressionism and love to visit art galleries. One of our bathrooms has a nautical theme. I found the video on how to decorate a bedroom very informative.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday, dear friend Linda!
Hello, Linda!
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely blog, full of things that are wise, funny, helpful, pretty...
Have a beautiful March!
the music therapy video had me in tears. What a wonderful thing they do.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the smiles. Wishing you a good week ahead! John
ReplyDeleteI am quite in sympathy with the chicken who did not hatch in Hawaii.
ReplyDeleteGood to meet you, Linda...I enjoyed your videos and images!
ReplyDeleteSo many great quotes, but I like the first one that talks about the story behind a person. So true.

Dear Linda - I know I always love the art you select for posts. In fact I often follow the link and enjoy more of it as well. As always your videos make me smile - feel calm and learn something new. Had to smile at the chicken one in the snow - I am feeling a bit like this right now (lol)! Hugs
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed learning more about you. Great videos and quotes. Thank you for visiting my blog. My birthday is the March 12. I am going to be 79. I post a lot of things on face book. If you are also on face book I would like to be your friend(Madeline Giani Burton). Have a blessed day and a wonderful week.

The chicken pic had me laughing, Linda!
ReplyDeleteyou have a very diverse interest in art! i must confess, i don't really have artistic sensibilities ... to be honest, i didn't know what toile meant, and i had to google it, but now i know :)
ReplyDeleteI have seen some people in our neighborhood with fountains...love the sound of that! Music is...well, music to my ears...not just mellow either...even harder edged music rocks my world ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the The Chicken Chick picture. Too cute and funny!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, most important is the food tastes good.

ReplyDeleteI like your honesty.
ReplyDeleteWell for me Linda, tasty food is better and more important to me than how it is presented! Inspiring post as always.
ReplyDeleteI bet chickens hate the cold. They were domesticated from the red jungle fowl, which lives in Southeast Asia
ReplyDeleteHe he... Very cooperating accomplices!
ReplyDeleteBonjour Linda, tout comme ti, j'aime beaucoup le Vintage! Bise et bon mardi tout en douceur!
ReplyDeleteLOVE these.... especially the chicken and Hi Honey ..I'm home! too funny!
ReplyDeleteNice learning a little about you today!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! I have fallen flat on my face when it comes to keeping up with the posts of my blogging friends during my vacation in Hawaii. I haven't been able to read all of your recent ones, but I have read the parts that your shared about yourself.
ReplyDeleteMy heart just goes out to you. I worked with many different kinds of children over my teaching career, each one was unique. One thing I know for sure is that everyone has strengths and weaknesses. I taught many amazing children who had special needs of one sort or another. I am always fascinated with how they developed coping skills to overcome or work around difficulties that they were experiencing.
I'm sorry that you have been at the receiving end of cruel comments and bullying because you were in special classes. That is so wrong! I'm thrilled that toward the end of your schooling you had people help you graduate in regular classes. That is an accomplishment!
I think that our society is too quick to label people and that our definition of what is normal keeps shrinking. Yes people need support and accommodations, but not labels. Unfortunately sometimes the only way that educators can tap into the resources that a child needs is through labeling them.
Why is it that some adult employers think that they will get the best work from people by abusing them? I have never understood that. Kudos to you for speaking up about this person!
I can't imagine what a struggle it has been for you in the past few years without a job. I know you have health issues and struggle with depression ~ yet you are such an affirming person and post uplifting, inspiring, and joyful things. I love and appreciate that you do this.
Thank you for having the courage to share about yourself. It is not easy to do. Keep brightening our days! You are an inspiration!
I happened to like a lot of the things you liked! : ) Great share!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletemerci Linda, j'aime aussi tout sur le thème de l'eau,
ReplyDeletela peinture de Monet,
la musique, les animaux et les chats en particuliers,
et j'aime vous rendre visite.
Laurence
