Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory. - Dr. Seuss

Giving respect to waiters, security guards, servant and drivers won't degrade you or your position.

All you ever need to do is take it one little step at a time...a little fairy dust wouldn't hurt, either.

Joy is a special wisdom.

Your mind constantly absorbs all your attention, with one worry after another pretending to be necessary...it distracts you from being present to yourself and anyone around you.  It is through a quiet mind, that the light of eternal peace can shine into this world.

Worries and tensions are like birds, we cannot stop them from flying near us, but we can certainly stop them from making a nest in our mind.

Take life day by day.  Be grateful for the little things. Try not to stress over what you can't control.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share.

  2. My girl loves choc chip cookies - not me, cutting down on sweet stuff. At my age, moderation is the key.

  11. Linda, I love the Alpacas. They look so loving and motherly, so gentle with the lambs. Oh no, these are dare devils, jumping from such high building! So scary!

  13. Good morning, dear Linda! Mrs. Shady is fond of making chocolate chip cookies and I will be sure to show her this recipe. It's interesting how alpacas instinctively guard not only woolly lambs that resemble them but chickens and ducks as well! Jumping off a skyscraper is not on my bucket list. :) I can't help wondering what would happen if a wind gust blew one of the jumpers into the building on his way down.

    Thank you, dear friend Linda!

  14. Alpaca's do protect most livestock from predators; they raise such a ruckus. My friend kept a couple to protect her sheep.

  15. Loved the prank, and ate several chocolate chip cookies. I didn't know about chilling them before baking. New to me.

Loved the alpacas protecting the lambs. I had no idea.

  32. The JFL gag was cute. I liked the alpaca video, too. We once saw a llama leading a very large herd of sheep across a road and into another pasture while the herd's owner blocked any traffic on the roadway. Very interesting.

  38. Hi Dear Montreal Friend!! I've been enjoying catching up on your blog while having a cup of coffee. I caught an on-line link at my sister-in-law's up in Breckenridge in the mountains. Her service was out all day, but it is finally working again.

As always I enjoy the gags you choose, and the animal pieces like the baby birds leaving their next and the llamas/alpacas protecting the new lambs.

Kudos to you, Linda, for featuring the cheerful and brightly colored work of Candy Waters. I have worked with a number of autistic children, and I have found many of them to be creative. It's nice that you contacted her mom about having her on your blog.

I would give anything to speak French. I am so bad at languages. It's good to know that my nieces and nephews growing up in Canada are bilingual.

When we traveled in France last year, I found the French to be much more willing to speak in English and to be patient with my stumbling French than when I was there 43 years ago. I think it would be the same in Quebec. If you approach people kindly and politely and make an attempt to communicate with them, that is appreciated.

Don't know when I'll catch an on-line link again, so I'm sending you lots of hugs! Take care!
