The videos I have chosen for this blog are: A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire
This song has been a favourite of mine for many years! Duke of Earl by Gene Chandler. I think he did a wonderful performance of this song and I love the faces of the people in the audience...they are mesmerized. Great song! :)
I love the group "Abba", so this song is one of my favourites by them. "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do"
This particular video was done in Sweden. I love the setting, and I like the outfits the ladies are wearing. As well, I love how they share a laugh at the end of the song! :)
Here is another song that I have loved for many years. If you have never heard this song, I hope you will take a few moments to listen to it, it is very touching...but you may wish to have a Kleenex handy, as it is a very beautiful and emotional song.
"Echo Park" by Keith Barbour.
This next song is one that I have loved ever since I first heard it! I say this because I don't always like a song right away, but this one I definitely did...I still love it. :)
"I've Been Searching So Long" by Chicago
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.
I believe the world is one big family, and we need to help each other.
Abba? My favourite is Slippin' thru' my fingers - brings to mind my girl everytime...her growing up years and she's all grown up now.
ReplyDeleteentendre Abba ça me rajeunit pas lolll
ReplyDeleteAlien photoshoot is to laugh Linda, and ABBA made beautiful music, I also like that.
ReplyDeleteKiitos Linda. Hyvää viikonloppua.;)

ReplyDeleteGreat song by Abba, they were a great group and very popular in Australia in their day.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Linda!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, dear Linda! You know how much I love music and memories. I was thrilled to hear these offerings of yours and to realize that you and I share some favorites. When I was in 7th grade, "Duke of Earl" played on the jukebox in the lobby of my school and I used to watch girls dance to it while the boys played ping pong at tables nearby. Of all the records that played that year in my school lobby Gene Chandler's "Duke of Earl" is the most memorable and the one I like best. I loved Gene's dramatic, majestic caped performance in that film clip. I was a casual fan of ABBA for decades before becoming a huge fan a few years ago. I don't think I ever saw this particular video of them performing "I Do." Can you feel the good vibes when they sing? Such sweet smiles on those ladies. It's great to be able to roll back the years and see Gene Chandler and ABBA as they looked in their younger years. Aggie Faltskog (the blonde female ABBA member) is very close to my age and we are both 65 now. Hard to believe! I never heard the Keith Barbour song before but enjoyed it. It reminds me of one with a similar theme, "Old Man's Song" by Tom Rush. If you have a minute, please watch this video:

That Chicago recording is also a favorite of mine. What a beautiful and distinctive sound that band consistently achieved!

ReplyDeleteAfter all the rain we've had this year, I've known that meanwhile in Canada... the mosquitoes are as big as a Caribou.Ha,ha,ha. As far as the group " Chicago ", I enjoyed them also. I think I had many of their records when I was young. Ah, as time goes on you tend to lose them all.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Friday Linda. See ya.
