Halloween Saturday
Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all! Happy Halloween to all those who celebrate it! I am not against it but I don't bother with any celebrations on this day. :) The videos I have selected for this post are: A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire
Packing Like a Pro
The Cat Shepherd Overseeing his Sheep
Food Rescuers Turn Waste into Meals for the Hungry
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view. Care about people. Guide them if you know a better way. The more you help others, the more they will want to help you. Love and kindness begets love and kindness. And so on and so forth.
This is one of the most frustrating things about having an anxiety disorder: knowing as you're freaking out that there's no reason to be freaked out. But lacking the ability to shut the emotion down.
Just let everything around you and inside you be, without judging it, changing it, labeling it, let it all be, let your emotions be, let your thoughts be, let the people around you be, just for a moment, let it all be.
This disgruntled customer stares through the window until the home owners go out and fill the empty bird feeder. :) (for those of you who aren't sure what animal this is...it is a groundhog).
Hello Linda. It's good to be in touch with you. I enjoyed seeing the video clip of the cat and the sheep and hearing the sounds of the countryside. Wishing you a quiet and very blessed weekend.
Wow, can't believe he managed to squeeze everything in the bag! Lol! I'm also packing my stuff for my coming 2-week Europe trip & I'm using a the largest luggage bag! Lol!
Oh wow...that "Sketches in Stillness" quote really took my breath away...so, so appropriate for me at this moment in time. Thank you, dear Linda...so much for being you.:) xoxoxo
Wolfman The Wolf Man comes home one day from a long day at the office. "How was work, dear?" his wife asks. "Listen! I don't want to talk about work!" he shouts. "Okay. Would you like to sit down and eat a nice home cooked meal?" she asks nicely. "Listen!" he shouts again. "I'm not hungry! I don't wanna eat! Alright! Is that alright with you? Can I come home from work and just do my own thing without you forcing food down my throat? huh?" At this moment, the wolf man started growling, and throwing things around the apartment in a mad rage. Looking out the window, his wife sees a full moon and says to herself, "Well, I guess it's that time of the month."
That gag is so "Canadian" - I love it! And I love all of Salmansohn's material. And I love Raphael's art. Hope you're having a great first day of the weekend.
Happy Saturday morning, Linda! I've been enjoying your recent posts while drinking my morning coffee. Twice in the last two days, I've been pulled away from your blog, just as I was getting ready to comment. Life!!!!
First, Belated Happy Birthday! I hope that you have many more happy ones! I am grateful for the increasing number of candles on my cake; too many people I've known died young, and life is the most magnificent gift of all!
It was lovely to go back and see photos of your parents, your brother, and you. It's really sad that your sweet baby brother died so young; what heartbreak for your family! I have to block out some time and go back to the beginning of your blog!
I can't remember if I told you how well the rolling-and-elastic-binding packing tips worked. (Thing seems so jumbled lately.) I was already doing all the tricks in this packing video, even putting shoes in plastic bags, but I found the rolling/binding tip even more helpful, especially after being searched by Canadian Customs in Halifax recently. When there is elastic around the rolled whatever, it's so easy to put everything back. I took my rubberized windbreaker, following the rolling plan and reduced it to a very small size. I was shocked! No matter how many times I pack, I am always looking for new tips, so thanks for sharing these. If it's a video of things I already do, then it just makes me feel clever!!!
Have a lovely weekend, Linda! I'm off to one with plenty of gag laughs and inspiration to brighten my day! Hugs!
My lovely Linda, how I love the Cat Shepherd, he's really great !! I love cats but this is the first I see who not only isn't afraid of sheep at all, but even watch over them ! And your quotes, you know the serenity they comunicate to me, I love them all ! Sending love to wish you a wonderful end of the week, with gratitude Dany
I want to go on a holiday now so I can try packing like that!

I don't celebrate it, either, Linda. We usually either go away or keep the lights off until it's over. I liked the comparison between dating an onion and dating a human and the "no box required." I could empathize with those poor office workers who shredded the important contract in the JFL gag.
These packing tips are always helpful. For me it starts with the shoes. I always have my runners, but the second pair has to comfortable and then I choose my outfits and accessories to match that one pair of shoes. ;-)
Loved all the quotes (I always like your selection) and I loved the groundhog looking through the window - my squirrels do that - they look through the screen door waiting. Sometimes they are on two legs and it looks like they are praying for us to put something out...Quiet Halloween around here - we live where no one likes to walk uphill - our little town usually does something for the trick or treaters.

Loved the gag. I would have been mortified too.
ReplyDeleteLoved the cat heading his sheep. So cute.
There is indeed a lot of food wasted in America. Feeding the homeless, and there are many homeless, is a great thing.
Have a fabulous day Nancy. ☺

ReplyDeleteOh, don't we like our creepy Halloweens? :-)
ReplyDeleteGreetings from London.

ReplyDeleteI'm very impressed by the Food Rescuer. What a vision!
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile in Canada was so cute!
Hope you had a spooky Halloween.
ReplyDeleteThose sheep in the video certainly look happy and healthy--and that is a big cat, with such a bushy tail!
ReplyDelete(Our cats' tails only get that big when they are very mad or feel threatened by something.)
