As far as yesterday's post in reference to Google's changes, which start today, I don't mind that they are making changes, what I do mind, though, is if they alienate other blog users from commenting on their blogs (Wordpress, etc.) For myself, I prefer to allow people to comment using another blog, if they choose to, not forcing someone to become a Blogger user or Google+ user in order to be able to comment. I am able to comment on blogs by Wordpress and others, so I think Google should continue to allow others who are not Blogger or Google+ users to comment on their blogs, if for no other reason, as a form of courtesy. I knew that something strange was going on since a few weeks now when I began to notice the number of my followers disappearing, and this happened to other Blogger users as well. Worst case scenario: registering for a Google account will enable you to continue following my blog with the latest posts as well as being able to comment on my posts. Thanks for listening.
Here is the actual message that I saw on Blogger: In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.
We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.
The videos I have chosen for this post are:
Mr. Bean - Salvation Army Carols
Maia Darme - Aquaharp
How to Make Beeswax Candles
Piglet Rescued Moments from Drowning
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.
Good morning Linda! Very sweet all this paintings. Wishing you a powerful start in the new week.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Nada
Dear Linda. With 761 followers, you do not want, but seriously mourn when a few will be lost. Be generous, you will not feel it.
ReplyDeleteWith all my love to you,
Eva
Bonjour Linda
ReplyDeleteMERCI pour cette belle publication
GROS BISOUS et belle journée
I like that last one even though it is kind of sad. Very emotional piece of art.
ReplyDeleteMr. Bean again :)
ReplyDeleteAll the art is wonderful.
That is obe of the messsages i recall from Google..
wonderful pictures ful of colour. Very wonderful. Thanks for sharing;
ReplyDeletebest regards
susa
The blogger changes was new information for me, thank you for telling it.
ReplyDeleteThe piglet is so fortunate that these rescuers came to know that it has fallen into the pit or else it would have drown. This pit is so dangerous that whoever fell in would not be able to climb up without any outside help.
ReplyDeleteLove your collection. Mr Bean is all time favorite...
ReplyDeleteOnce again...Google...stick their noses where
ReplyDeleteit does'nt belong...!
I know they run Blogger now, and l've always been
on 'Google Friend Connect'. I follow a few Blogs,
but, one l follow, l am unable to leave comments,
because that Blogger only has Google+. So, it's
up to the Blogger concerned to open up ways of
leaving a comment, if they choose to of course.
Otherwise...what's the point!!!
I don't do Google+ never have..never will!
All these changes are not fun, but I get updates from you Linda.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, I was happy to see the pigelt rescued. I love the pretty art work. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week!
ReplyDeletethanks for the paintings. I didn't realize that Google was changing. That is really too bad.
ReplyDeleteI am Lucky, Linda, I can still follow you !
ReplyDeleteMr. Bean is once more great !
Excelente trabalho.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.
Dearest Linda...I have missed you so much!
ReplyDeleteSo good to see the little piglet rescued, some good news to begin the afternoon...and I loved the art.
Gosh...all that wonderful talent!
Thank you so much for sharing...:)
xoxoxo
je te souhaite un doux début de semaine
ReplyDeleteahhh Google again..

C'est intéressant la fabrication de bougie :)
ReplyDeleteBisous Linda

So glad to have started the week with Mr. Bean!! Love him! Great videos - so loved the happy ending for that sweet pig. Great artwork, too, of course.
ReplyDeleteAs for google - still trying to figure out how all this will improve anyone's experience...
I love all the artwork! Sigh...I hate it when Google changes things...I want anyone to be able to comment on my blog, not just folks with a Google account. Maybe I need to take a look at Wordpress...
ReplyDeleteFunny Mr. Bean video. The harp music was great. Glad the little piglet was rescued. Beautiful art work. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteso much fun here Linda, loved Mr Bean, always love Mr Bean xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe Bean vid made laugh ... the piglet vid made me cry, L ... cry ... Love, cat.
ReplyDeleteI am on google because my son made me do it. I can see his shared photos on google. I really enjoyed seeing all the different artist's works. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteIf this renders it impossible for anonymous users to comment, I'll be losing some readers too.
ReplyDeleteGoogle, of course, doesn't care less.
Honestly I've lost so many followers over the years that I don't know how much this will actually effect me. Blogging is a dying art it seems with the rise of Twitter and Face Book.
ReplyDeleteDe belles réalisations, joli post et Mr Bean me fait beaucoup rire!
ReplyDeleteJe te souhaite une bonne et belle année 2016 parsemée de bonheur!
Cath
Beautiful paintings and music. So glad to see the piglet rescued.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda. Thank you for the information re Google and Blogger. I must admit I didn't know of it until now. I did wonder why I had lost three or four followers.
ReplyDeleteAs you know I am a fan of Mr Bean, but I wish to reassure you I am not like him but do find his silliness amusing, sometimes hilarious.
Bonjour Linda, que j'aime le son de l'harpe, c'est tellement beau, magnifique! Bise et bonne soirée toute douce!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteI've also noticed that some followers of my blog may become unresponsive. This is very unfortunate and disturbing. I can also respond to wordpress but some no longer with me. It would be a pity if visitors would disappear. With you I can happily do react and look at your beautiful posts.
Greetings, Helma
Hi Linda, Mr. Bean never disappoints and I love that last image, it's sad but very interesting. I like the other pictures too, they are cute.
ReplyDeleteFrankly, I don't know what to think about the last changes Google makes in the blogs. I understand it in such a way that based on the blog's settings you can comment with different IDs, you can't just follow the blog via the Google-Friend-Connect application. That wouldn't be that bad as there are other ways of following. I've been really disappointed by changes they've made to new photo galleries which I quite liked, they don't work any more and the whole system is quite confusing...
As for the GOOGLE COMMUNICATE I also wrote it on my blog last week, but I assure you that I'd love that nothing would change, I would be so sorry to lose some friends who haven't a Google + account or don't want to have it ....
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm so grateful for the lovely choiche which we can always find here, my blessed friend, and then starting with Mr Bean, it's truly gorgeous !!!!
Have a most beautiful start of your week, my sweet soul
sending much love to you
Dany
I also lost few bloggers, but it doesn't affect me at all. I love blogging for myself, just to not forget some lovely moments. Wishing you a lovely evening!!!
ReplyDeleteI really like your art choices today. So much vibrant color! I don't really pay attention too much to Google, but thanks for the info.
ReplyDeletelove all the art you post - and i didn't know about google changes...thanks for posting that. have a great week Linda.
ReplyDeleteVery entertaining videos and beautiful art work, especially Heidi's animal portraits. Early on I connected my comments to Google and after a few months disconnected because of the confusion, and all the comments to my blog disappeared! Not sure what to make of the new changes but I have already about given up on Google Plus as it is just too confusing.
ReplyDeleteMr. Bean does it again!
ReplyDeleteBlogger began to go downhill when Google bought them out! I hate Google with a passion and have refused Google + or Google connect or whatever they call it. At the moment I'm tempted to exit Google completely and simply use my L & L Photography site. We'll see.
A really nice set of paintings today. Can't pick a favorite, although the dog was especially nice. I hadn't heard about the changes Google was making, but I've been a bit lax in my blogging lately. :)
ReplyDeleteGoogle has become evil. I only have an account because I set one up years ago when they played nice. I refuse to use them as a search engine as they track. I switched over to Firefox and use DuckDuckGo to search.
ReplyDeleteLove the Autism Artist.
I haven't noticed a difference yet with signing in to comment. We'll see how it goes over the next couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteAh.. too bad about the followers. but don't worry, this fan is still following you! :D
ReplyDeleteas far as following is concerned, i like to use feedly.com ... it's free and it's an efficient way to keep up with everyone's sites :)
ReplyDeleteThe piglet is so cute! ANd I like the harp music...so soothing!
