Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!
Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes on my Wednesday post, I really appreciate it.  I had a very nice birthday yesterday (Thursday, October 27th). Hugs and love to you all!  :)

The videos I have chosen for this post are:

Duck Chases Dog (this is only a 40-second video but is just too cute and funny not to share!)  :)  I really love this video, hope you all do as well!

Biscaya - James Last

Dog, Cat and Rat

The Carter Family - On the Sea of Galilee

Bobby Pickett - Monster Mash

In life you will realize there is a role for everyone you meet.  Some will test you.  Some will use you. Some will love you and some will teach you.  But the ones who are truly important are the ones who bring out the best in you.  They are the rare and amazing people who remind you why it's worth it.

Reasoning vs intuition...
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and a rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift. - Albert Einstein

The idea that some lives matter less is the root of all that is wrong with the world.

The aim of argument, or of discussion, should not be victory, but progress. - Joseph Joubert

Don't ruin other people's happiness just because you can't find your own.

I am learning how to walk away from people and situations that threaten my peace of mind, self-respect or my self-worth.

Beware of destination addiction...a preoccupation with the idea that happiness is in the next place, the next job and with the next partner.  Until you give up the idea that happiness is somewhere else, it will never be where you are. - Robert Holden

People who are not happy with themselves can't possibly be happy with you.

Love is not what you say.  Love is what you do.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share!

  1. Linda, I love the duck chasing the dog video. They are so cute and having fun with each other! Wow, the dog, cat & rat video is amazing! The trainer is really great in training them to accept one another! And I love this quote "In Life"...the people we meet and the ones who brings out the best in us...

  17. Hi Linda, I came to your blog via Robin's "A Bird's Life". I usually check out other Canadian blogs, and I'm not too far from you, in Kingston, Ontario. Was born in Montreal but raised in Gaspé, then lived on the east coast for 16 years before moving here.

I enjoyed your post with all its positive messages. Karen Salmanshon has one of my favourite sites. A few others are TinyBuddha.com, Gratefulness.org and SimpleReminders.com, if you're not familiar with them.

All the very best to you.

  24. Well, the duck and dog is too funny! Ducks can be quite fearless...but I think it the dog turned around and ran after it, the thing would fly away quickly. Loved the music of Biscaya...so calm and soothing. Cats and rats just don't seem to go together...our cats would make quick work of that rat for sure! And that last Raphael piece is stunning! Glad you had a good birthday. Keep on keeping on!

  27. Linda, I understand why the dog is running. I've been chased by a duck, goose and rooster. I'd know what to do if a dog attacked but birds not so much! Love the dog, laid back cat and rat. Strange buddies for sure... The Monster Mash came out in my first year of college and I'd never seen it performed by Bobby Pickett until now. He really got into it. Used to watch Dick Clark all the time...from 1957 - 1961. Have a great weekend! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

  60. The duck chasing the dog reminds me of a rooster we had that would try to chase our dog. Our dog, Ginger, could easily kill it, but she was trained not to hurt chickens, and that rooster would make me so upset trying to bully our wonderful dog. I think he's since met his well-deserved fate on someone's dinner table! Once again, love the kitty in this post as well.
