Weekend Wonderland

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all! The videos I have selected for this post are:

Dog Found Nursing a Kitten in South Carolina

Mickey Mouse Club:  Guest Star Day

Why Does Your Cat's Tongue Feel Like Sandpaper? - Deep Look

For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

I'm not weak or a mess.  I'm a deeply feeling person in a messy world.  It takes strength to face and feel what few other people have the courage to acknowledge.

If you want to be happy, you have to enjoy every step of your journey in life:  The uphill steps.  The rocky steps.  The "no restroom for miles" steps. Sure, you can whine about how many and tricky those steps might be.  Or you put on your dancing shoes and have some fun along the way.

No matter what happens, life is too short to be anything but happy.  Live fully.  Have fun.  Love lots. Learn lots.  Take chances.  Let go.  Face forward. Don't let people bring you down.

Complaining is draining!  Commit to talking 20% about the problem and 80% about the solution! Soon you 100% won't walk to talk about it!

Be yourself.  Be true to your dreams.  When you don't care what anybody else thinks of you, you've reached a dangerously awesome level of freedom.

If you have to convince someone to stay with you, then they have already left.

Whoever said revenge is sweet never tasted the yumminess of forget about it.

Stop resisting life.  Nothing is for nothing.  You are exactly where you are meant to be this very moment.

Before you speak:  Think...is it true?  Is it helpful? Is it inspiring?  Is it necessary?  Is it kind?

It's time to be kind to yourself...you've carried that heavy baggage long enough.  It's okay to set it down now.

A laugh is a smile that bursts.

Don't hurry...be happy!

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share!

  2. Oh! My Goodness! A Hoover Twin Tub...
We had one when l was a boy! My Mum
used to swear at it all the time! :).
The washing always got tangle up in
it..Mum hated it, she'd then did the
washing by hand, and just use the
    spinner!
    Thanks for that one...Brilliant! :).

  7. Ha ha Linda. I remember my old mum's Hoovermatic. It used to move around the room and shake the floorboards as well as taking all day to wash a bundle of clothes. The Good Old Days?

  9. Hello Dear Linda, lovely once again to visit your blog and see what goodies you've found for us.
I thought the dog nursing the kitten was so adorable... incredible too!
I was allowed to visit our neighbour's home to watch the Mousketeers. It was a real treat as we didn't have television. So many years ago!!
Loved your quotations and Raphael's art as well.
Cheers Linda, thank you very much, and have a really lovely weekend :D)

  11. Good morning Linda, my hubby loved the Sloth pictures. He said it's almost like you knew he'd be here to see them and not at work yet (he goes in later today). LOL
He says if he was an animal he'd be a sloth. He has said that all his life. And, he is anything but a sloth. He's a hard working man. LOL I wish you a wonderful weekend.

  12. Wonderful sayings once again. My last twin tub I gave to my mother when I upgraded, many years ago, wish I could watch the video!!
No matter what happens, life is too short to be anything but happy. Live fully. Have fun. Love lots. Learn lots. Take chances. Let go. Face forward. Don't let people bring you down. Si very true and well worth remembering.
As you know Raphael Vavasseur Art is one of my favourites, thanks. Take care Diane

  13. Wonderful videos and reminders, Linda! Don't you just thoroughly enjoy the glimpses of the past, seeing the innovations that one generation invented and enjoyed, and marveling at the changes in society, culture, daily living, and world-wide events? I want to see it all, and wish I could be here in 100 years to see what it will all be like then - with the new inventions, the changes, and the ways that the planet will be healed from what "we" and the past 200 years have done... It's all too marvelous. My favorite today is the "put your dancing shoes on". It really is true - I love being happy for no reason at all. LOL Wishing you a great week-end! xo

  16. Hi Linda, I love your many comments on my blogs. Thank you so much. You make photography a lot of fun! I also love your videos about old products. I remember washing machines that basically were a tub with a scrubber on which you scrubbed your clothes clean by hand. My grandmother had one. My mother loved Electrolux vacuum cleaners. Don't know why exactly, but I think they were made in Sweden! :)

  17. A favorite pastime for me, is watching cats as they watch the world outside through the window!

  20. How do you find these videos, Linda? Loved them all! Yes, I remember watching Mickey Mouse on TV, but unfortunately just vaguely. Nice to see kids allowed to look like kids - no obvious eye make-up or glamorous hair. Always love the photos/sayings, too. Really nice artwork today!!
Great way to end the week, Linda. Appreciate all the effort you put into your posts. Have a safe, happy, happy week-end!

  24. Linda, That Hoovermatic twin tub is a lot different than today's laundry equipment. I don't remember one like that...it was probably advanced for it's time. The story about the dog and its kitten was very sweet and certainly unusual. Ahhh, the Mickey Mouse Club... What a time of innocence for children!

I agree that people need to think before they speak...or text or tweet or snapchat or whatever they do these days. There is too much meanness and there are too many false stories being circulated these days...with almost no penalty for those who violate any semblance of decency. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

  25. I'm still whirling and spinning from the Hoovermatic ad - that was exactly like my old machine, only it makes it all look so gentle and easy - it was much more sploosh, splosh, tie them in a knot and foxtrot around the kitchen. Thank you so much for posting it!

Beautiful post from beginning to end.

  33. Oh my, what enjoyable videos! The washing machine set is hilarious! I bet it did work though! Loved the dog caring for her 'baby'! That is so much like our Gracie with Elbee! That is so great! I will show my family that one! The Mickey Mouse club is so adorable, such sweet times I think, my mother used to tell me my dad would watch those when he was in the army. : ) I agree that the muskateers are clothed so much nicer, little girls and boys were allowed to be children. Fascinating on a cat's tongue. Hmmm. I guess that explains some things on our cats! : ) Loved the quotes, every one of them. The art is lovely. Great finds Linda!

    Have a great weekend! Blessings!

  49. Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories of the Mouseketeers! I loved to watch them when I lived in places with television. The quotes about kindness are important to think about. The woman who volunteered in my classroom for twenty-five years always told my students that "kind" was her favorite word. I hope that you have been enjoying a lovely weekend, my cherished friend!
