Monday Delight
Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all! The videos I have chosen for this post are: Dog Raises a Baby Opossum After its Mother was Killed by a Car
Great Dane Patiently Waits for Cat to Finish Shower
Magpie Bird Saves Family
Billy Vaughn and his Orchestra - Isle of Capri (1961)
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view. I may not have everything in life, but I am blessed enough to have all that I need. For this I am grateful.
Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost loved ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. - Eskimo Proverb
Oh Linda...you can't imagine how wonderful it feels to be here again, after so long! Thank you from the depths of my heart...for such a wonderful haven...it truly warms my Soul...:))
The video about Penguin, the magpie just blew me away, friend L ... because for many years I have not liked them at all, in fact I hated and shot them all winter long ... bcuz during calving season they would sit on my newborn calves' heads ... and not love them but pick their lil eyes out and other soft parts like destrying their still bloody belly buttons ... they also would raid other birds nests and kidnap and eat the babies ... I personally saw a pair of magpies raiding a robin nest taking the babies away one by one ... when they came for the last one, I saw the baby jump out of the nest in terror and fall to the ground ... it was still naked and had no chance of survival ... it died an hour later nestled on my chest ... Nature is what it is ... beautiful and also cruel ... Only the strongest will survive another day. Love, cat.
Another wonderful post. Sorry I am struggling to keep up with life. I have not put it on my blog as I don't want family to pick there is a problem, but N is not well. We spent 4 hours today in emergency while they ran tests, he seems to have a blood parasite probably picked up in RSA. He has a whole lot more tests to go so I hope the find some answers. He is very depressed and rundown. Also the shoulder and knee problem adds to his misery at present. Take care and please do not mention it on my blog. Diane
We had a few of Billy Vaughn and his Orchestra's black vinyl records way back then. I think the song I remember best would be the theme from "A Summer Place", a movie starring Troy Donahue & Sandra Dee.
I love those animals and bird videos. The dog raises a baby opossum is my favorite. Wonderful and inspiring quotes. Thanks for sharing Linda and have a wonderful new week.
Linda, Another great bonding story...dog and possum! It's a good thing that love is blind because a full grown possum isn't the prettiest sight... Cute photos though of the pair together. I've never seen a cat in a shower before...at least at its own free will! Neat story about the magpie and terrific photos of the bird interacting with its family! Interesting that it left when it did... Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
I couldn't believe that adult opossum was still riding around on the dog's back. Sweet story about the magpie. Wish it would have ended with a reunion, though. :)
Dear Linda such delightful videos...the white German Shepherd with opossum was especially heart stirring for me. I once had a White female shepherd and this reminded me of her so much. Such wonderful quotes to remind me to always be grateful. Not hard to do when I come visit you. Take care and have a beautiful day. Hugs!
Love the Atwood quote ~ so very true. I often think that Terry is like water; he flows around so many things. The animal videos were cute, although the cat looked more like it was drinking than showering. The German shepherd must be leucistic, lacking pigment all over its body. I wonder if the possum felt heavy when it got big. Sending you lots of love and hugs, Linda!

ReplyDeleteIf animals can be kind to different species, then so should us humans be capable of doing so!
