Montreal Photos

Since I have enjoyed my camera so much, and the long walks I take, I have captured many scenes of Montreal during my walks...here are some of them.

The Old Port of Montreal...

St. Joseph's Oratory on Mount Royal.

This is a house on the waterfront for birds...Purple Martins, to be precise.

These last two photos...one is a sign outside of a military/veterans' hospital in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue.  The other photo is of the hospital itself (exterior view).  This is where my father died in 1984.  He was 64.

Thank you so much for visiting me here, and please feel free to share your thoughts by clicking on the "comments" link at the end of my post.  I truly appreciate your comments.

  1. I have loved looking at your pictures and scrolled through them twice! What is the Oratory? It is a wonderful picture. And that bird feeder, it is the size of a small lighthouse, a real one! Or is that just an illusion? So many interesting things to see here today, I am glad to see your blog expanding!

    1. Hi Ginny,

Thank you so much for your comment. You are very kind! The St. Joseph's Oratory is a Catholic cathedral situated on Montreal's Mount Royal. It is quite a tourist attraction here...it has splendid architecture. I will share more photos of it on upcoming blogs. The bird feeder is pretty much the size of a lighthouse. I have seen some birds fly into it, but haven't quite caught the knack for getting shots of small and fast birds...as yet. LOL!

  4. During my working days, I visited most of those places. Too bad about the nonsense going on now, though!

    1. Hi Ian, yes, it is. (assuming you are referring to the student protests). Hopefully this will be resolved and it ends soon. Many Montrealers, including myself, are fed up with it.

  5. Thank you for sharing these as they give me a better idea of some of Montreal's treasures. I probably mentioned to you I was in Montreal one time, back in the mid-70s, for a meeting. We stayed downtown and I remember being quite enchanted with what I saw as a charming city, but for the life of me, I can't remember much more than that!

I think I shall have to visit again some time!

  6. The best for me is, the one by the waterfront, a place for the "Purple Martin".

  10. Wonderful photos. The pros don't do it any better. Montreal has not been among my journeys. It needs to be on the itinerary.
