Vintage Coca Cola

Perhaps not everyone knows this, but the first...and original Coca Cola was created as a health remedy for stress, headache and some other ailments.  I remember one of their old television and radio ads from (I believe) the 1960's or 70's.  The slogan was, "It's the real thing!"  Not too long ago, Coca Cola brought that TV ad back (well, the original song, anyway)...the song was very well done, in my opinion.  It inspired enthusiasm for their product.

I no longer (or let's say very rarely now) drink soft drinks, but I still have fond memories of Coca Cola and all the memorabilia that comes with it.

I thought I would share some vintage Coca Cola photos and see if you all have any Coca Cola memories from days gone by.

Thank you all so much for stopping by, and please feel free to share your memories on Coca Cola by clicking on the "comments" link at the end of my post.

  1. I have plenty of Coke memories having grown up in the 1950s and '60s in Texas. That was the era where you went out for a Coke, which was synonymous with going out for a soda or a soft drink. I had a aunt who drank so many Cokes (in fact, the only liquids she drank during her adult life were Coke and milk!) that she had a refrigerated Coke box in her home on the back patio and the Coke man made weekly deliveries just like he did the local grocery stores! And no, she did not die from a corroded stomach! To this day I still drink one Coke a day and when I go into a restaurant that serves that other soft drink, I have water!

  6. Growing up we never had any type soft drink at home, but when we visited our grandmother's house (once or twice a year... they lived far away) she would have the Cokes in the small bottles for us and they tasted like heaven! blessings ~ tanna
