Vintage Candy

I came across some vintage candy ads that intrigued me...so I thought I would share them here with you all to see if you know about and/or remember them.

First up is a 1940's ad for Curtiss candy.  I remember the Baby Ruth and Butterfinger chocolate bars...which I think are still around today.  As for the rest, though, other than the Peppermint Pattie, perhaps, I am unfamiliar with any of the others.

Next up is the Queen Anne Pecan Roll.  I don't remember this one at all...in fact, not only do I not remember it, I had never heard of it until I saw this vintage ad.

Next is a vintage Neilson ad...some I remember in this ad.

Next is a vintage ad for Planters.  I don't remember any of these...and, again, I hadn't heard of them until I saw this ad!  I am familiar with Planters peanuts, which are very good and still exist today, but these?  Hmmm...

Last on my list here for today is The Steamship Brand Molasses Candy.  I had never heard about this until I saw this ad.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I really look forward to your thoughts and memories.  Please click on the "comments" link at the end of my post to share.

  2. I find this very funny. There is nothing I would eat. They consumption date must be met already.

  3. There is nothing here I remember except a few in the first picture, but how about some of my favorites from the old days...Chiclets, Mallo Cups, Sky Bar. And three Musketeers used to be three flavors of nougat, chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. Now they are NOT three Musketeers anymore, they are just One Musketeer!

  5. My late husband Ben was a candy lover. He especially loved the old candies from when we were kids back in the 1950's. We actually found a couple of shops that sold a lot of the old candies and we would go by the every now and then and he'd pick up a bunch of the old candy bars. Talk about a "kid in a candy shop" (LOL).
I miss those good times with him.
