Even though I love to take walks and photograph anything I find interesting, I must be honest in saying that I often don't know the type of flowers, plants or breeds of birds that I photograph. For example, I can say that a bird is a duck or a swan, but I most often have no idea what breed of duck or swan. Bob had asked me in my last post what type of duck I had photographed. I really didn't know...however, after having done a search on the web of photos of duck breeds it looked like a northern pintail to me. I am not certain of this, though.
As far as today's and the next few posts go (my walk by the waterfront; I will be doing this in three separate posts as in three parts), I wanted to mention that this walk was not as enjoyable for me as the walks I have taken in the past. It was a very humid, hazy type day. The sky wasn't blue (definitely not like the lovely blue sky of my previous posts).
Nonetheless, I hope you will all enjoy these photos I took I on my walk. :)
I loved the leaves. Not that others are not good. The pigeons on the land and ducks in water in a single frame is special.
ReplyDeleteEven with not-enjoyable weather, Linda, you can surprise me...
ReplyDeleteLie(f)s.
@Your blog teaches me English ! Thank you !
Are those wild grapes bearing any fruit?
ReplyDeleteCharming and superb captures.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful capture as usual... Linda! Not all are aware about the species they capture, but the internet helps a lot identifying them.
ReplyDeleteLinda you are doing great. Don't worry if you cannot identify or classify a bird/animal/tree. Just keep clicking those beautiful shots and share them.
ReplyDeleteIt still looks a nice place to walk.
ReplyDeleteThat settles it...stuffed vine leaves for lunch.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a hazy day, but that gives a special effect to the water.
keep clicking...
ReplyDeleteI love the leaves, they are beautiful.
ReplyDeletePlease do not lose any sleep over not knowing the names of animals and plants, Linda. Most people don't know them! And those that pretend to have simply Googled them on the Internet! :-))
ReplyDeleteI do know, however, that several of your photos contain plain ol' pigeons of the crappy variety. They crap everywhere and on everything!
By the way, sometimes soft hazy days are the best times to take photos 'cause you don't have so much contrast and so many blown-out white areas. If it's kind of a bluish day, put your camera's white balance on "Cloudy," which will give you warmer tones. But these photos are excellent!
Hi Lowell, thanks so much for the tips. I find that I am most comfortable taking photos when the sun is not too strong. I can see better what I am doing for one thing, and I love dusk! :)
DeleteHi Linda .. Today I was photographing pigeons .. What a coincidence! .. Beautiful photos... Regards
ReplyDeleteI love pigeons and love feeding them. They're so appreciative!
