It was a really beautiful day, so I decided to go up to St. Joseph's Oratory on Mount Royal...and took a nice walk around there and got plenty of photos to share with you all. Incidentally, the photo that you see on my header at this time is St. Joseph's Oratory. I took that particular photo last summer, if I remember accurately. If it wasn't last summer it was the summer of 2010.
As for the photos I am sharing with you now, I took these today, (Sunday, August 12th). There were several tour buses there when I went, and two were from New York and one was from Florida. Hope you all enjoy the photos I took.
These tour buses were from New York.
Here is another tour bus...not sure where this one was from, though.
I deliberately took photos of the oratory at different angles...it is a beautiful, amazing place!
The next two photos are of the bell tower. It was playing when I was there, and the music is lovely!
I took this photo to give you all an idea of the beautiful views of Montreal that can be observed from the Oratory.
Thank you all so much for visiting me here! I have many more photos of St. Joseph's Oratory that I took and will share with you all over the next several posts. I hope you all enjoy this series and "tour". I really appreciate and enjoy reading your thoughts. Please click on the "comments" link at the end of my post to share.
Lovely pics as always Linda. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the sequal....and laughing at the idea of covered waggon tours...
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice climb. When I was there, the pilgrims did the stairs on their knees. It must be hard and does it bring them something in return?
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
The stairs for the people who wish to mount on their knees are wooden. The other stairs are concrete. The people who mount on their knees are praying so I think it does benefit them in some way.
DeleteLooks a great place to visit.
ReplyDeleteWhen you listen very carefully, Linda, you can hear the bells...
ReplyDeleteLie(f)s.
Montreal seems to be a nice place, I love the buses.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a really fun day!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to visit Canada, Quebec in particular, but I guess I'll never make it. Pretty place you photographed there.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful place with a great view of Montreal. I was in Montreal once, many, many years ago. I need to get back there.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the tour very much. So very beautiful. Have a good day, Linda.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a wonderful place to check! Nice shots on the buses
