Sycamore Tree & September 2011 Photo

Hi everyone!  The video I have chosen for this post is called, "In the Sing-Song Sycamore Tree" (Lee Morse & Her Blue Grass Boys, 1928).  I found it upbeat and very enjoyable...and the photos are very nice as well.

The photo I am sharing today is one that I took on one of my walks in September 2011.  You just need to click on the image to see a larger view.

We had a blizzard here in Montreal today, snow and blowing snow.  Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I really appreciate and enjoy reading your thoughts, which you can always share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  2. I hope the blizzard doesn't cause you any problems. I really enjoy bluegrass music, which is a good thing since I live in Tennessee!

  6. Between the song and the beautiful foliage, I am able to forget about a blizzard! So sorry you are enduring that weather but you seem to divert your attention from the negatives of it so you are to be commended! Just thinking about it makes me cold and want to go wrap in a blanket with a cup of soup and a good stack of books!

  7. Really beautiful songs. I love this music. Here he sings like a retro band Mr. Havelka.
Photo of plants is soothing and pleasing to the eye. Peter.

  9. I've never heard of Lee Morse or the song but I thoroughly enjoyed both! She has a nasal twangy voice that reminded me of some French singers! Very nice.

Love your photo! Not only is it colorful but the detail is so sharp! Magnifique.

Sorry about the blizzard. Not so much fun at this time of year when everyone's looking forward to spring. Stay safe and warm!

Re your comments about the homeless: I agree and know for a fact that many of the homeless here are also suffering from a variety of mental problems. It has always seemed to me that such a rich nation could figure out a way to help these people.

  11. Upbeat it certainly was Linda. Cheered me up on a cold, grey February afternoon. The old ones are the best.

  13. I love the lush green in the photo. Quite different from a blizzard! Hope you made it through the storm OK.

  14. What a lovely old song and I found my foot tapping to the music. Lovely picture from your walk back in September. We have had no big snow down here in Virginia yet, just a few dustings here and there that quickly disappear, and yesterday or the day before we actually saw big flakes falling, but it stopped before it had started.

  15. What fun to hear that music from the Roaring 20s! How nice to see greenery and flowers from last autumn. We didn't get a blizzard here north of Toronto but it sure is cold!
