Who I Am

Hi everyone!  You know, I had mentioned in a previous post that I am relatively new to online communications.  Since I am a very sensitive person, I sometimes tend to take things personally...and believe me, I am working on this!

I have had a few good friends (face to face) for several years now, and they always seem to see the good in me no matter what I have been through, and I have to say that I am deeply touched and feel very loved...and I am extremely grateful for them.  I in turn try to see the good and beauty in others...I sometimes have more difficulty seeing the good and beauty in myself, but I am also working on this.

Not sure about any of you, but there are times where I am not the most lovable person.  I always try to have the best intentions and do my best to be loving and kind to people, but I am not perfect.  I fall short on many aspects and am trying to work on my weaknesses.  Although since I have been taking the Vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid I haven't felt depressed, I am still very sensitive...and am trying to accept this as being part of me, of who I am, and trying to turn it into something positive.  Thank you all for bearing with me.

I just needed to share this, and thank you all so much for coming here to visit me and for your kind responses to my posts, it really means a lot to me.

The photo I am sharing today is one that I took in October, 2011.  You just need to click on the photo to see a larger view.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  Thanks, as well, for 'listening.'  I really appreciate and enjoy reading your thoughts, which you can always share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  1. I've run into a few stinkers online, Linda, but most are pretty decent. Glad we got connected, since you're one of the good ones!

    1. Hi Diane, thanks so much. It did take some courage for me to share this. I do find it therapeutic to be able to share my feelings. In spite of everything I think I am a happy person, but confidence and toughness are things I am continually working on. I appreciate your comment.

  5. I wouldn't say I'm sensitive, but if someone is nasty to me I beat them over the head. Kindly, of course! Heh, heh.

Seriously, there are many insensitive clods who you just have to ignore. Often their boorish behavior isn't personal, it's just the way they are. I try to avoid them!

Sounds to me like you're doing pretty well. You've got a grasp on the problem and you're working on it. Not very many people can say that much!

  7. You have taken the important step...you have identified the problem...

I'm a fairly hard boiled old bat but some peoples' rudeness and insensitivity can be hurtful.

  9. There is a book by Elaine Aron called "The Highly Sensitive Person" that was invaluable to me. Some of us do NOT experience the world the same way as most people, and having that explained to me enabled me to stop expecting the impossible of myself.

  10. I think we all have some sensitivity in our nature regarding what others might say to us. I heard a preacher on Moody Broadcasting once say something about this. He basically said to briefly consider the critical comments. Don't dwell on them but ask God if there is something HE wants you to learn from them and if their was any truth. If so, seek to improve - - but otherwise do not let the words of others define you. HE is the only one we should try and please.

  12. Lovely flower photo, Linda. I'm quite sensitive, too. In fact, oversensitivity to environmental stimuli is now a recognised medical condition. See the book "The Highly Sensitive Person" by Elaine N. Aron for more info. Cheers, J.
