A Trip Down Memory Lane

Hi everyone!  The video I have chosen for this post is Travel Trailer Life in 1937.  I really enjoyed this short, 3 minute video, a great trip down memory lane!

I was wondering if any of you have ever, or dreamed of, having a motor home...or a floating home?  Would you ever enjoy some time in either?

The photo I am sharing today is one I took a few years ago in a Chinese restaurant in Montreal.  It has an aquarium with tilapia in it...and yes, they do sell these fish to customers who want them.  You just need to click on the image to see a larger view.  I took this photo because I just loved the colours!

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I really appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  1. ooo, i'm not sure i'd feel comfortable in a motor/floating/mobile home, but it sounds like a very interesting experience :D tilapia's quite a tasty fish, actually! and it's relatively inexpensive, so it's quite popular in my city :D

  4. Chinese restaurants always have the neatest and most interesting decor!!! The only thing I want to live in is a house firmly planted to the ground. I have enough trouble navigating on solid ground and am very clumsy.

  8. Hello, glad you stopped by my blog. I like your blog. I love the retro trailers. I have seen a few used as a get away in the backyard. To write or just relax. I am fixing up a shed I have for my own get away ;-) I love camping years ago.
    Have a nice weekend.

  11. A charming video. As a child I had a lot of enthusiasm for a mobile home, but never fulfilled that illusion....

  12. I'm pretty happy with my camper trailer - so far, it's taken me pretty much everywhere I've wanted to go in Australia, including some places WAAAAY off the beaten track!! Just recently, I saw a combination caravan/houseboat - how versatile is that?!?!

    Have a great weekend!!

  15. Hi Linda, my friend's parents had a small motor home and when we vacationed together, we would spend rainy days in the motor home playing cards or board games and talking.
I lived in Canada for over 20 years, but I was only twice in Montreal for a few hours.
Thank you for stopping by at Polonica: Home Again. Hope you visit again.

  16. Hi Linda! The trip down "memory lane" occurred just after I was born! :) But it didn't look familiar.

Tilapia are a very popular food fish here and are often raised on fish farms. I've not seen anything like this, though, where you could buy a living one in a restaurant!

I'm still out-of-pocket so blogging will be hit-or-miss for awhile.

  17. Thanks for sharing that video! I have lived in a manufactured home for thirty years; it came in on wheels, but sinc we moved in, it has never been on the road.
Thanks, also, for visiting my corner of blog-dom!

  21. I don't think I would like to travel in a motor home, but my husband would like to travel around the country in one. Not sure if we ever will.

I like the colors in the photo!

  24. My grandfather,my dad, & his twin brother owned grain elevators & had pickup trucks for the business. When I was young they jointly purchased a camper to share for vacations. I have many wonderful memories of National Park vacations & Mother cooking great meals using the built in stove & oven in the camper. Great fun!

  26. We drove our car to a park on the ocean and pitched a tent in a national park camping area, just a couple hundred metres from the water. It was lovely but I don't think I would like a motor home or trailer.

Most of the Chinese restaurants here only have goldfish in their tanks.
