Empire State Building 1938

Hi everyone!  I hope you will all take a moment to check out this one minute video...window cleaners on the Empire State Building, 1938!  I found it to be a fascinating journey back in time.

Now just a quick update on what has been happening with my left ankle.  So yes, it is still painful to walk, so I went to a clinic today.  They did x-rays and what I have is calcium deposits there which is causing the inflammation and pain.  So I have begun taking an anti-inflammatory prescription that the doctor gave me, to be taken twice per day, at meal time.  That's it.

Sorry to have told you all about my ankle, I didn't want to take away from the fun and hopefully encouraging, relaxing part of my blog where I try to post things that will make you all smile.  :)

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I really appreciate and enjoy reading your thoughts, which you are always welcome to share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

That video is amazing. I can't imagine being able to clean windows from so far up! It made me dizzy to look at it. :-)

  2. Calcium deposits! I am so glad you finally got a diagnosis! So the walking did not cause it, just maybe aggravated it. I hope the pills work!

OMG, those window cleaner....they are like spider man. And many years later only somebody invented the window cleaning gondola. But then it's still dangerous. Thanks for sharing.

    Have a nice week ahead.

  13. I don't care to clean windows from a stepladder...no way would I handle the job from several stories up!

Glad to hear that you have a diagnosis on the ankle & good luck with the anti-inflammatory scrip. I can't take them without retaining a lot of water (swollen feet & legs) or hives with Celebrex, or stomach irritation. I think I've tried them all & the only one that worked was Viox, which has been taken off the market for causing heart attacks! Hope you have quick relief from your pain!

  17. Hi Linda, thanks for reading my blog!

These windows cleaners are brave! Have you seen the video on how they build the building. The builders were so brave! Reminded me of monkey sitting on tree branches without fear of falling off.

Sorry to hear about your ankle problem. I suggest you take omega 3 fish oil routinely. They are good for people of our age and also it is anti-inflammatory and help to improve our immune system.

Blessing to you from half way across the globe... take care

  19. Impressive video. Did you know that for the construction of the Empire State building indians were employed who could walk on high altitudes without feeling fear. They didn't have a sense of altitude and depth view so they could not be afraid. It was a genetic exception. That's the story I heard, if it is true, who knows.

    Greetings,
    Filip
