Canada Geese

Hello everyone!  Those of you who visit my blog regularly know how much I love nature and animals.  The video I am sharing to day is one I found on YouTube.  It is a short 3 minute video of a family of Canada geese...the geese parents are trying to encourage their baby to make a leap;  watch and you will see.  Geese are beautiful and very social and do their best to help.

The photo I am sharing is one I took just the other day...a Canada goose I came across in a nature park seemed fascinated that I wanted to take a photo.  I had to laugh when I saw how the photo turned out.  The goose walked right up to me, as you will see.  You just need to click on the photo to see a larger view.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I really appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  3. Hi Linda. I'm not sure what's going on but the Stone Creek Community where we used to live has a bunch of Canadian geese living around the various ponds. They're very friendly - in fact about 10 of them were laying right next to the golf practice range! Maybe they're on their way home to Canada for the summer?

  4. Hi Linda, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. The video you posted was quite interesting and fortunately a happy ending. I have many photos of Canada Geese but like very much the birds when they are in flight. Have a nice day.

  5. Where I use to live the Canadian geese would come a peck on the widow for bread. they are beautiful but messy. They are also really good parents. I have seen them help other moms who had problems...fascinating.

  10. Oh, I was JUST looking at some geese today at my church. My church is situated on a pond, and we get a lot of geese. I walked near a few today. They were HUGE. Really fun to watch.

  14. Geese are so interesting, aren't they? What did the goose have to say to you ? I have pet geese that follow me around like puppies and sleep at my feet when I sit down in my lawn chair.

  20. Linda,
This little video was sweet. While I was watching it, I kept wanting the little one to get with his parents, and I was so glad at the end that he reunited. I am an animal lover too; they are special indeed.

Great photo! I love geese too. We just had two in our yard the other day. I thought geese usually traveled with a flock and was worried that these two were lost. Hope they found the rest of their flock.
