Cuttlefish and a Montreal View

Hello everyone!  The video I have chosen for this post is entitled "Cuttlefish:  Chameleons of the Sea".  It is quite fascinating and is a short, two minute video.

The photo I am sharing today is one that I took today!  It was a beautiful, warm sunny day.  As I have mentioned before, Montreal's (and Quebec's) language is French.  "Cremerie" is French term meaning "creamery."  "Creme glacee" is a French term meaning "ice cream."  So if you are looking for an ice cream place in Quebec, these words will help you find one.  "Bienvenue" is French for "welcome."  You just need to click on the image to see a larger view.

If you all don't mind sharing, I would enjoy hearing what you love about your town or city!

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I really appreciate and always enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  1. I am grateful that people in my little town are so caring about my husband who has problems with balance...the number of hands put out to help him is impressive.

  2. I love that we are between Dallas and Fort Worth - two very different cities but close to each! It's great for me since I have family in both!

  3. Un joyeux moment passé en votre compagnie... Joli billet.
    Gros bisous

  4. I loved this instant French lesson!!! Now when people come over, I will welcome them with this word and they will think me highly cultured!

  5. heheh, the words for 'ice cream' might be different in various languages, but the love for ice cream is almost universally similar! :D

  6. HELLO Linda, Very interesting video. I see it was a nice day to go for ice cream........ Thanks for the French lesson.......

  7. I love my little suburb of Chicago because it's warm and friendly and so close to the "Windy City". I love your city of Montreal and have visited a number of times.

Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting my blog.

  8. When our kids were younger we did a lot of fishing in the ocean. What I found most fun was that you never knew what you would catch and we would catch some very strange-looking fish on occasion.

Thank you for those French phrases as I'm always looking for a welcome with good ice cream! :)

  9. Linda - the cuttlefish video was so intriguing...I don't think I have ever seen this type before. Also loved the French word for ice cream (which is my favorite food). I love the fact that when I go to our local markets it takes me all morning to get through because so many of us know each other and we visit as we shop. Have a great day.

  10. Strange creatures who can change their appearance. I do know some people like that though...:)

  11. Mmm, we will soon be having creme glacee weather!

  12. Lovely to find your wonderful blog - thank you so much for stopping at mine too :) Montreal is one of the places I would love to visit - we have some family in Vancuver, so hopefully one day soon!
I love my home city Istanbul - the colors, history, food, all the buzz is so mesmerising. I also do love being near to London; even though it is a big city, you feel there is intimacy, a lot of charm in it, with each village having its own character. best wishes, Ozlem

  13. Oh my! I am so late in visiting. Please forgive me. Thank you for stopping by with your sweet comment. Learning a little French is always a good thing. I never hear anything but Spanish (as they call it) here in Southern California.
My husband is from Maine, and so grew up close to Canada..within about 8 miles I think.
Not to worry about responding. I am WAY worse than you are, I'm sure! :):)

  14. Cuttlefish..., fascinating, Linda !
    Delicious... ice cream... mmm...

  15. Llama mi atención en la fotografía el contraste entre el cartel y su soporte. Un abrazo de Miguel

Call my attention in the photo the contrast between the sign and its support. A hug from Miguel
