Balloon Jumping & Kite Skating

Hello everyone!  The video I have chosen for this post is a short, one minute, fun 1930's clip entitled "Balloon Jumping & Kite Skating".  Enjoy!  :)

The photos I am sharing are ones that I took on my nature park walk.  It's interesting that I often remember names of flowers and plants that have animals in their names.  Examples:  "tiger lily" and "elephant ears".  :)  The large pink leaf is an elephant ear.  I took these photos inside the greenhouse at the nature park.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

I am sorry about my last frantic post about Blogger's changes!  Someone kindly pointed me to this link...Blog reading list is not going away.  It appears that my understanding, as was a few other blogger's understanding of the upcoming changes, was incorrect.  I have only had my blog since February 2012, so I guess it is easier for me to misunderstand any changes.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  8. wow, the 1930s. it's so interesting to see something from eighty years ago. my grandfather's currently 90-something, and it's incredible to imagine that he was just a young boy when this video was made =) tiger lily is a great name for a flower! i've never heard of elephant ears before, but i just googled it and it looks like a fascinating flower =)

  10. I've been confused about the coming changes, too.

Those antics in the video look rather dangerous. But I guess they had fun, too.

We used to grow it across the front of our old home.

  13. I think we all love blogging so much that any threat we could lose our blogger friends is very scary.

  14. Thank you for getting it clarified for all of us about the blog reading list. Other people have been writing about it, too, so I did not know what was happening either.
    GREAT pics of the plants.
What is it with people who still in this day and time like to go para-sailing? I like my feet on the ground!
