Old Country Store

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!  The video I have chosen for this post is a short two minute clip with many lovely photos from days gone by.  The video is entitled "Old Country Store - Goodbye Little Darlin" - Gene Autry.
Enjoy!  :)

Unfortunately there aren't many old country stores left.  I fondly remember the F.W. Woolworth and Kresge stores. You could find so many things in those stores, and the prices were very good.  The atmosphere was warm and friendly, too.
Those were the days!

The photos I am sharing today are ones that I took on a nature park walk...inside a greenhouse in June.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  2. What amazing leaves. I LOVED those stores, you could walk around them for HOURS!! I guess now the dollar stores are the new five and tens, but not NEAR the same atmosphere! And definitely no soda fountain or lunch counter...

  9. Little stores like that seem to have gone the way of the dinosaurs. Traveling abroad I still see them on occasion and I like that so much. Love your leafy pictures!
