Mellow Monday and Health Update

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!  The video I have chosen for this post is a beautiful and soothing 4 minute clip entitled "Beautiful Film of Scuba Diving in a Newly Flooded Meadow."  Enjoy!

Well, I mentioned in a previous post that I have been feeling really tired over the last few months.  I went today for blood and urine tests, so I will let you all know after the results come in.  The lady who was taking blood had a hard time taking blood from me in the usual spot on the arm.  She needed 4 vials for the series of tests that my doctor wants, and she was not even able to fill one vial with this method! My blood flowed just a bit and then stopped all of a sudden. Anyway, I told her that it has happened in the past when I have had blood tests that they could not find the vein!  I suggested to her to try my hand.  Voila, it worked, and she was able to complete the blood test with the vials.  I have also registered for a possible sleep disorder and there is between a 3 to 9 month waiting list for that.  I will be patient and wait until I get a call.

The photos I am sharing today are ones that I took on a recent walk.  I will be honest in saying that I am kind of disappointed in these photos.  :(  The sun was very bright and it seemed to work against my photo attempts.  I know that some of you have said that the sun is good and that it brightens things up.  I do agree except for when I take photos, because it seems that I have trouble focusing as well as I would like to.  At any rate, hope you enjoy these photos nonetheless.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  1. It's a pity you have to eait for the course on sleep disorder...but I'm sure it will help you when it comes round,...and, with the test results, your doctor might be able to do something to help you in the meantime with the tiredness.

    1. Hi Willow, thanks so much. The deer was actually in a very large enclosure at a nature park.

  3. Bonjour,

  5. I think the Deer photos turned out just fine. I always get my blood removed from the hand, hurts a bit more but I am so hard to get blood samples from. My veins are so small and hide away. I go every month to get my Epilepsy Meds. monitored. I pray to God you will feel better and they find what ails you. (hug)

  6. Oh my goodness, the deer is just laying there and looking at you, not even running!! What a strangely beautiful picture. Phil and I are going to the sleep lab, too. Both of us together, so you and I will soon have a shared experience. The sleep lab is very nice, they have Sleep Number beds, a big T.V. I'm also sorry to hear about your blood tests, I think the top of the hand hurts more than the arm. I went for blood today, as well. Please continue to let us know!!!

    1. Hi Ginny, the deer was a little darling! I almost missed him, but as soon as I saw him I had to capture the photos. Thanks for sharing your own story with me, and I look forward to comparing notes. That sleep lab sounds awesome!!!

  7. I'm fortunate not to have much trouble with sleep. Worst comes to worst I just take a sleep aid in a blue moon. I hope you find a solution.

  8. As I've mentioned to you, Linda, we are traveling and having poor internet connections. I couldn't load the first picture, but I loved the second one, of the deer lying up against the building. I know that bright sunlight can be a problem, but I think you did very well with these.

I also have very difficult veins from which to draw blood. I've found that sipping a little water before going for the blood draw helps. If I do a total fast, without water, it's almost impossible for them to find a vein. And I've had the blood draw-ers tell me that a little water won't skew the test results.

I hope that the doctors can find the solution to your tiredness and that you'll soon be feeling perky.

  12. Hi Linda,

Im sorry to hear that you are not feeling well, I hope you get better soon.
Oh God! Your photos are amazing.... You live in such blessed place...look at those animals! I live in São Paulo, it is a very big city, lots of tall buildings and traffic jams...but in my neighborhood we still have trees and some parks, but not compared to yours.
    Have a very nice week!

  21. Nice video and pictures Linda.
Hope you get the sleep disorder sorted. I sometimes lie awake most of the night. My doctor puts it down to worry or depression, but when I tell him I have no worries and don't feel depressed he tells me that there's such a thing as hidden depression when the patient is in denial. Perhaps he has something, but I'm still happy with the way my life is going.
