Memory Lane and the Cosmodome

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!  The video I have chosen for this post brings back great memories from my childhood, because my parents played the honky tonk piano (instrumental) version of this song on the record player.  This is the first time I have heard it with the lyrics.  I think this song is from the 1940's, but I love music "before my time" and hope you all do as well.  It is entitled "Look there, ain't she Pretty" by Bob Crosby and his orchestra.  Enjoy!  :)

The photos I am sharing today are ones I took on a recent walk.  This is a tourist attraction mostly geared to children.  It is called the "Cosmodome".  I didn't go inside but it is supposed to be a space camp of sorts.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

If you are interested in learning more about this, here is a link to the website.  Cosmodome

Thank you all so much for visiting me here.  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  2. Great music! Reminds me of my parents, too, because I imagine that they listened to music like this in the 1940s. That's cool that both of your parents played the piano!

I watched many musicals on TV growing up so the old music brings back lots of memories.

  15. Hi Linda, as a teenager the big bands were still all the rage even though the guitar groups were making an impact. We loved them both, but could see rock n' roll winning the argument. I'm glad that the big bands never vanished however. I think they'll always be around.

That cosmodome looks quite out-worldly, a great adventure for kids no doubt.
