Delight in the Little Things in Life & Photos of Myself

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!  The video I have selected for this post is absolutely delightful!  It is a 3 minute clip of a baby elephant seeing the ocean for the very first time!  The joy this elephant expresses just says it all! Enjoy!  :)

I chose this video because this baby elephant is delighting in something beautiful and small.  Oftentimes we deal with so many difficulties and stress in life that we forget to delight in the little things that can bring us so much joy!  I truly hope that this post will bring you a sense of joy and delight.

I am sharing a couple of photos of myself...the first one was taken in my grade 1 class in elementary school.  The second was taken when I visited a lovely church in Vermont when i was in my early 30's.  I had a perm then...my hair is not naturally curly, although it has a small natural wave, I guess. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view...although you won't see a very large view of the first one, as it was clipped from a classroom photo.

Perhaps many of you have wondered why I don't share photos of myself.  To be honest, I am not photogenic, and I am what you might call "camera shy".  :)

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share.

  1. Nie sądziłam, że słoń może mieć tyle radości z kąpieli w morzu i ja zresztą też, patrząc na niego. Miło popatrzeć na koleżankę blogową, gdy była trochę młodsza. Pozdrawiam.
I did not think that the elephant could have so much fun swimming in the sea and I, moreover, too, looking at him. Nice to look at blogging friend when she was a little younger. Yours.

  2. That's exactly why I do not put photos of myself on my blog. I've gotten a lot of flack for it...especially one blogger. But I'm not about to start. I have done it within a group that I couldn't get out of doing but that's about it. I am very ugly in photos. Yuck! :))

  3. Linda, you are so photogenic, both are lovely, your smile, love the curls too. Baby elephant, what fun, and we should all look for small things, to delight us every day .Today, mine is the smell of pine wood that has been split, drying ready for next winter's fires!!! Fond greetings, Jean.

  5. Your 30's photo reminds me of myself in the 80's. I had a huge permed 'do. I'm sure you are quite photogenic - but as a photographer myself, I find myself always behind the camera instead of in front of it! :)

  14. That lovely smile stayed the same over the years....but I do sympathise about having a photograph taken - I hate it.

  17. You are photogenic to me! You are just too cute in the first picture, and you are very pretty in the second picture. You look a bit like the famous T.V. English chef, Nigella Lawson.

  18. Ha ha - that elephant was having as much fun as a child playing in the waves; awesome video.

You have an infectious smile, Linda - in both photos, and I'm sure still today. But I'm with you on which side of the lens I'd rather be ;>)

  21. I love seeing early childhood photos, when looking at mine they rivet me backwards to a time of perfection, if there was ever a time of perfection I probably have created it but still..... And you are so photogenic-my first perm in my 30's had me looking like Jimmy Hendrix, yours was perfect.
