Honouring Nelson Mandela

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!  The video I have selected for this post is a lighthearted, even humorous, yet informative video on being gentle with others.  Enjoy!

I am pretty sure that you are all aware of Nelson Mandela's passing on December 5th.  In order to honour his life I am sharing a couple of his quotes today.  I chose the above video for this post because I believe that Nelson Mandela did his best to show us that a loving and gentle approach with others is far more effective than a rigid and rough one.

"It is better to lead from behind and put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger.  Then people will appreciate your leadership." - Nelson Mandela

This particular quote touches me, as he is showing that it is better to be humble.

"I detest racialism, because I regard it as a barbaric thing, whether it comes from a black man or a white man." - Nelson Mandela

I agree with him here!  Love should be "colourless", and colour blind, and we need to look at the hearts of others rather than the exterior.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share.

  15. this is lovely, we've spent the weekend watching documentaries, pleased to see movies cancelled with tributes to Mr Mandela, last night Invictus with Morgan Freeman played. There was TV News and documentary footage we'd not seen before...massacres, police instigated carnage etc. He was a gift to South Africa and I pray there is someone that will carry his flame.
