Dangerously Cold Here in Montreal - Come in to Warm Up

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!  It is -41 today in Montreal and we have had warnings on the news to stay inside if you don't have to go out.  And if you do go out, dress very warmly!  You know, I still love the winter!  :)

The video I have chosen for this post is a vintage TV ad.  Enjoy!  :)

The photo I am sharing today is one that I took in June 2012.  You just need to click on the image to see a larger view (I used the zoom feature to capture these baby Canada geese...the parents were nearby).

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share.

  7. I have never heard of that commercial or that product but enjoyed the vintage film. Those geese certainly look warmer than the rest of us are today!

  8. Brrrr! We're having near-record-breaking cold here, too...but not THAT cold! We had a pretty good snow today, with more coming on Saturday, and no chance that any of the old snow will melt before the next snow comes.

That was a cute ad, but I've never heard of the product. Still, fun to see.

  9. I remember frozen fruit like that as a winter treat. Late 40's, earlier 50's, when frozen foods were widely distributed. The package opened with a key, like coffee cans.

  17. Wow, is that the standing temperature, not including wind chill? That's crazy! Our wind chill tonight will be -15 so it's cold here too. Plus we're getting nailed with like a foot of snow. Ugh! Is winter over yet?

  26. Way too cold here as well on the Minnesota tundra. We're fleeing south as first time snobirds shortly. These old bones can't take it any more....:)

  28. Love those baby geese Linda. Our big problem here in the U.K the last few weeks has been flooding. One local eatery, Granny's Kitchen, Newton Stewart has suffered badly once more. It's a shame since it's one of our best for great food.
