Caring for Others and Sharing about Myself

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!  The video I have chosen for this post is a 2 minute clip of a lonely boy out in the cold without a jacket.  Although the film is in Norwegian, the kind actions of strangers is well understood. Enjoy!

Every now and then I like to make a post whereas I share more about myself...so here goes.  :)

I have never liked sports...either as a spectator or a participant.  I am sure that this will come as a big surprise to many of you, but I have always been this way.  However, there are a few exceptions!  I do enjoy watching curling and figure skating...and I love watching the professional bowlers! I find watching figure skating and curling to be relaxing and watching bowling to be fun and exciting.  I used to bowl in a league (duck pins) about 25 years ago and did fairly well.  My highest score was 222.  Although I no longer bowl I still very much enjoy watching the professional bowlers.  My favourite pro bowler is Amleto Monacelli.

I got my first digital camera in 2010 (April) and have only been taking photos since then!  Even though I still have a lot to learn, I find it very enjoyable and love to take and share my photos here with you all.

The photos I am sharing today are sky photos that I took yesterday.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share.

  2. I hear ya on sports stuff. Couldn't care less about any of it. Until the Olympics roll around. Then I never leave the couch. Summer ones also but not so much as the winter.

  3. Lovely video, and your clouds, just like rippling water on the sand yesterday at our beach. Sports, for me, mainly a spectator, although I did enjoy tennis as a teenager, tried water skiing twice!!! both were disasters!!! And have so enjoyed the games at Sochi. Cheers, Jean.

  4. Lovely cloud shots.

I'm not really one for sports. I can sit down and watch a hockey game or baseball game, understand what's happening, and enjoy it, but I don't follow either sport zealously. Other professional sports tend to disagree with me.

I have been enjoying some of the Winter Olympic games.

  6. Thank you for reading my blog, ClassABoomers.blogspot.com. Because you did, I was able to find yours. We are the same age and I, also, was never an athlete and don't care for sports as a participant but, like you, there are a few I enjoy watching. Another thing we have in common is I love the movie 'To Sir With Love.' When my daughters were tweens and early teens, I rented it in hopes they'd love it as do I—and they did. They thanked my several times for showing them that movie.

  8. The only sport I've every had even a little interest in is Major League Baseball. Never liked it until my late husband took me to a game when we were dating.

  21. Great sky photos Linda, wow, I would struggle to paint these!! For someone interested in painting they are a good example of ariel perspective. Curling has stirred up some interest here in the U.K. as our teams have done very well in the games. Keep taking the pictures, you have a good eye.

  24. It was heartwarming watching the video. : )

I started taking pictures the same time that I started blogging. There are a few blogger friends who have been my inspiration.

  27. I love the kindness of the strangers in that video. How awesome. And I am a huge sports fan myself. I'm not good at bowling though. My own 8-year-old nephew beats me :)

  28. Hi Linda! For a person who just got a camera, you sure do a great job! Those clouds look like they were painted there, in little square patches. Beautiful!

My husband loves curling. He wants to be one of the broomers! Correct me if I'm wrong, but 222 sounds like a really high score in bowling? Nice!

    Happy Friday my friend!

  30. That was a very sweet video. I was never very talented at sports. Others were better and more aggressive than me. I enjoyed being part of our high school's sports programs by being either a statistician or a time-keeper, depending on the season. As an adult, I really don't care about watching any of them - - - some of the Olympics at times but can live without them, too. However, my husband is a TV sports fanatic.

  31. Well done to Canada for the two golds in curling Linda. I myself won an over 60's team competition four years ago. I guess you know that 99.9 % of all curling stones are from Ailsa Craig, often photographed for my blog.
