Food for Thought Friday

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!

You will notice a slight difference in my posts beginning today!  I have realized that my readers who speak other languages may not always understand the quotations I share here, as even if they can translate my blog to their preferred language, this unfortunately does not translate the images I share, only the text.  So what I am doing is to add the quotation for each image directly above the photo.  Hopefully this will make it easier for everyone to benefit from my posts.  There is a Google Translator on my blog that will translate my posts.  Thank you so much!  :)

The videos I have selected for this post are:

A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire

Mazagran (Thirsty for)

Restaurant Quality Greek Style Roasted Potatoes

Whiffenpoof Song - Bing Crosby Glee Club (1947)

For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

The things I do, the things I say, will lead some person aright or astray.  So the things we do should be the best, and the things we say should be to bless.

Money is but one venue for generosity.  Kindness is an even more valuable currency. - Alan Cohen

Whoever loves much, performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is done well. - Vincent Van Gogh

To strengthen the muscles of your heart, the best exercise is lifting someone else's spirit whenever you can. - Dodinsky

Treat the earth well...we do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.
- Native American Saying

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share.

  1. The coffee drink looks good, and so do the potatoes. Love the cat with the clouds in his head. Dreaming of dandelion puffs, I think.

  9. You are so kind to think of those who need to use the translator.

Love today's selection, particularly the Native American saying. I often wonder how can we own land when it is so old and will continue so long after we are gone and our progeny are also gone.

    Canadian notes are so colourful!
And they're plastic like the Australian. :)
We use polymer banknotes in Malaysia too, but only limited to $1 & $5.
Other notes are still printed in paper. ;)

  14. Good morning, dear Linda!

I can't wait to show Mrs. Shady the recipes for the tangy Portuguese espresso beverage Mazagran and the Greek roasted potatoes. We live a short distance from Tarpon Springs which boasts the highest percentage of Greek Americans of any city in the US. We enjoy visiting the sponge docks and savoring Greek cuisine in the restaurants there. The Whiffenpoof Song performed by Bing Crosby and the glee club takes me back to memories of early childhood.

Have a wonderful weekend, dear friend Linda!

  37. What a thoughtful thing to do, Linda. sometimes, even as an English speaker, it's hard to read certain images. this way I don't have to enlarge them if I can't quite read them. I don't know what I'd do without Google Translator. Have an awesome weekend!
