Monday Melody and More About Myself

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!

Happy Victoria Day to all my fellow Canadians!  Here in Quebec they changed the name of the day a while back from Victoria Day to Patriots Day.  But don't be fooled, this is indeed Victoria Day.  They changed it here because they wanted to break ties from the Queen, but personally, it will always be Victoria Day to me...and is throughout Canada!  Enjoy your day!

For those of you who may have missed my last two posts, this story I am sharing here will make more sense to you if you are able to look at my Saturday and Sunday posts.

So....continuing on with my Chinese gander encounter, here are a few photos that will show his attack on the sweet Greylag goose.  You will see how calm the Chinese gander's girlfriend seems, as well as minding her own business.  She is the one facing the other way.  It is the Chinese gander who had his eyes set on the Greylag goose.  My photos here will show you how it happened, and in the order it happened.  In the last photo he had just attacked her, and you can see her astonishment.  Poor sweetie.  Then he turned his attention to me and then attacked me.  LOL!  :)  You just need to click on the photos to see a larger view.

The videos I have selected for this post are:

A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire

Watermelon Slushies

Island in the Sun - Harry Belafonte

The Olive Route:  The Olive Tree in the Holyland

For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

I thought it was quite appropriate to share this image, since it fits in perfectly with my post.  LOL!  A Canada goose chasing someone.  :)

Giving someone a smile when they expect you to lose your temper....priceless.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share.

Queen Victoria was once our queen in Malaya. Ha ha...
But we got rid off our connection to Britain in 1957.

  14. Hi, dear Linda! It's quite surprising how aggressive various species of fowl can be, prone to unprovoked attacks on other birds and humans. The gag video had me laughing at those people who were dumbfounded by that malfunctioning vacuum hose. Harry Belefonte and his music first became popular at the end of 1956. His first hit single "Jamaica Farewell," was climbing the chart as I turned age 7. Other hits followed including "Mama's Boy Child," "Banana Boat," "Mama Look at Bubu" and the song you posted, "Island in the Sun," which came close to the top 40 in the summer of '57.

    Happy Monday, dear friend Linda!

P.S. - If you'd still like to vote for one of the eligible songs in my latest BOTB post, you may do so any time between now and Wednesday night. Thank you, dear friend!

  15. Happy Victoria Day! That goose is quite a thug, I am glad you distracted him so the other goose could get away, even if it meant you got attacked :(

Islands in the Sun, I remember that song, haven't heard it for ages.

I had to laugh at the Canada 10degC weather difference in autumn and spring - same here in Scotland!

    Have a great Monday!

  17. Hi Linda, I'm taking a little blogging break but just stopping by to check on one of my favorite blogs this morning ... Neat story about the Geese! :-) Wishing you a Happy Victoria Day!

  18. Geese can be so aggressive. But I guess it's just the way of nature. We can't really judge their doings with our human eyes.

  19. Oh dear, hope you're not hurt by the attack, Linda! Watermelon Slushies sound like some cool thirst quenchers! xoxo

  20. Smiling at someone who expects temper in return for their behavior has its limits. I work with someone who dislikes me and occasionally yells at me. My response always has been to listen with a smile and say nothing. Once she concluded "Why are you always laughing at me!" which made me laugh out loud. She stormed away, to the amusement of those in the room.

  21. Happy Victoria Day. I'm so happy that you, who lives in Quebec agree with the original name. What realistic, whatever the name is, we know what it means. We should have goose for dinner tonight. ( Only joking ) The Hunting Happiness Project was very beautiful. Island in the Sun by Harry Belafonte allows me to think about cruises.Arthritis is with me all the time. I'm use to it even though there are times the pain is tough. I;ll have to look at the exercises that you have showed this morning. Thanks Linda. See ya.

Wow - that goose had such a nasty disposition. Glad there aren't too many others like him!

Loved the entire collection, as usual, but especially the feature on the olive tree in the Holyland. I want to go there someday.

  36. I know Quebec has its people that support separating from Canada. I don't even think Scotland would be better off separate from the UK, especially not Quebec from Canada.

  43. That's quite a display of wings there Linda. Goodness, I remember being chased by a goose for the sandwich in my hand when I was a young girl of about seven. That goose nipped at the back of my legs as I ran but I held on to that sandwich, lol. Should have let it go of course but never even crossed my mind. Thank you for another wonderful post and have a great week :)

  47. Terrific shots of the geese, Linda! The Meanwhile In Canada one reminds me of something that happened yesterday- a couple of kids were chasing a pair of Canada geese across the lawn at a museum here. I kept thinking if the geese turned on them, the parents would blame the birds.
