Saturday Soul Food and More About Myself

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!

This is an addition to my farm trip I talked about in my post yesterday.  When I mentioned about my experience with the 3 geese, I forgot to mention that they seemed to make an alpaca nervous.  They were right outside of the large enclosure where the alpaca was, so when I got to the alpaca, he/she ran away from me.  With all the commotion with the geese, it didn't surprise me.  :) And one of my dear readers said that the geese I encountered were Chinese geese.  Let me just say that this is the second time I have encountered Chinese geese that were aggressive.  A couple of years ago I was attacked by a Chinese gander (male goose), but this one was a gray one.  However, this was before I understood their language.  He came at me and grabbed my pant leg (jeans).  Since he grabbed my jeans he didn't hurt me but I backed away and spoke softly to him saying, "It's O.K.".  At this point he realized I "got" his message and backed off.  LOL!  :)  After this incident I began to understand their language and thankfully have avoided attacks since that time.  I also saw a little female donkey that enjoyed the petting I gave her.  So sweet.  :)

The videos I have chosen for this post are:

Otter and Kitten Become Friends

Loomi Tea (Thirsty for)

Turkish Lullaby, Ninni

  11. Statues are often used as a metaphor for "lifelessness." Not this one! Funny!

  16. Good happy morning Linda. Inner peace is very important for the everyday person. I loved the laugh but I often wondered what would happen if a joke like that affected an older person if had a weak heart. Jokes are OK to a point. I loved the Canadian Gangs. Have a wonderful and warm Saturday. See ya.

  23. Hmmm, Chinese geese sound like they have the same temperment as Siamese cats. They are rather on the vicious side and give me the creeps.
    Enjoy your day Linda.

I used to keep a pair of Chinese geese (the grey type) in Malaysia.
They made a lot of noise when they saw strangers. :)

  35. Oh, I seem to be getting later and later in visiting your blog, at this rate, I will be visiting tomorrow's at some stage (OK, I just confused myself there).

I love farm animals and can still remember the time I met my first alpaca - their sweet faces enchant me. I steer well clear of the geese though!

  37. I don't know what kind they were, but all of the geese I have ever been around were very aggressive--regardless of being alone or in a gaggle.
