The Origin of Mental Health Stigma

Depression isn't a choice, but stigma and ignorance are. - Matt Haig

By being yourself, you put something wonderful in the world that was not there before. - Edwin Elliot

Quit trying to please other people.  If the people in your life don't like who you are and what you do, get new people.

May abundant blessings shine on you this day!

I love those people who can make me laugh during those moments when I feel like I can't even smile.

Motivation is something has has to come from within. Someone can help you light the fire.  But you've got to keep it burning.  Cherish that flame.  Don't let anyone blow it out.  You're in control of how bright you shine. - Cassey Ho

Sometimes a door that looks like great loss is really the threshold to freedom!

The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do.

Ring bell.  If no answer...pull weeds.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share!

  14. Good morning Linda! I have to say that when I click into your profile and see your profile photo, I just smile and laugh, seeing that cat look in the mirror only to see a LION! LOVE THAT.....

Your shares today are diverse and fun. I truly loved rereading Meryl Streep's piece. I think it is good when many of us come to a point where we have weeded out what is truly important to live happily and contribute something meaningful of ourselves to the world. Bravo for her, bravo for any of us who have learned this, the hard way.

Thank you kindly for coming to visit my post!

  18. Good morning, dear Linda!

The old lady rocker in the gag video reminds me of a television show I saw in the early 60s in which an old man became young again when he heard "The Twist." He threw away his cane and performed the dance perfectly. Costa Rica looks like a beautiful place and I'd love to see it someday. The man who played with the autistic girl on a plane flight deserves all the praise he is getting because it isn't easy to be that patient and set aside your own interests for 2.5 hours. I also appreciated the report on the origin of the mental health stigma. People with mental health issues should not have to hide in the shadows.

Thank you very much, dear friend Linda!
