Tuesday Choices and a Heartfelt Thank You!

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!
I wanted to thank you all so much for your kind responses to my post yesterday!  It really means so much to me and touches my heart.  It is great that even though many of us have never yet met one another face to face, how we can care for one another and offer our love and support.  Once again, thank you so much!

The videos I have selected for this post are:

A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire

Arranging a Buffet Supper (1946)

Glowing Fish

How to Pack Like a Pro

For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

Whoever angers you controls you.

Do not give up. It's amazing how things can turn themselves around.

You have it within you to rise above whatever is bringing you down.

Be soft.  Do not let the world make you hard.  Do not let pain make you hate.  Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness.  Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place. - Kurt Vonnegut

If you want peace, you won't get it with violence.
- John Lennon

Sometimes there are things in our lives that aren't meant to stay...sometimes the changes we don't want are the changes we need to grow.

I've been stabbed in the back by those I needed most.  I've been lied to by those I love.  And I have felt alone when I couldn't afford to be.  But at the end of the day, I had to learn to be my own best friend, because there's going to be days where no one is going to be there for me but myself.

Starting today, I need to forget what's gone, appreciate what still remains, and look forward to what's coming next.

Wishing you a day that's buzzing with joy.

It's not the size of your house that makes a home, it's the size of your heart!

You're not crazy, you can do it.  You're awesome! But you should probably get a second opinion, because I'm just an eggplant.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always enjoy and appreciate reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share!

  3. that video from 70 years ago instructing housewives how to prepare a buffet supper is fascinating ... it feels like a relic from a culture that's vanished in this 21st century :)

  5. "What ever angers you ... controls you" ... that just totally blew me away, L ... in fact it made me cry ... so hard ... so hard ... here I am, trying to be strong and I am fighting, believe me ... and now that I read this saying ... I realize what controls me and has controlled all along ...I am a peaceful person with anger simmering inside .. but no more, because from now on I will work on that ...thanks for opening my eyes, L ... your blog is a god send ... blessed be ... Love, cat.

  19. Hi, dear Linda! How are you today? I very much enjoyed your selection of videos. The 1946 tutorial on Arranging a Buffet Supper reminds us how much formality and correctness there used to be compared to now, how many rules there were to follow to ensure that we made our guests feel respected. I am amazed to learn of all the species of ocean life that glow. I wish we knew for sure what purpose it serves. The tutorial on the best way to pack a suitcase offered very valuable advice which I will follow next time Mrs. Shady and I travel.

    Thank you, dear friend Linda!

I love the buffet table setup. That was amazing. We are so different now aren't we. Thank goodness. I've done a lot of these and not quite like this, but still acceptable.

Have a terrific day Linda. ☺

  34. Linda, I'll be there are not very many homes or places who worry too much about the etiquette of setting up a table or a buffet.

    ReplyDelete
  35. That buffet video is a gem. They really went out of their way to set up that buffet. The video with a different soundtrack could be a clip from a horror or scifi film about humans controlled by some outside power. Kind of creepy in a way.

  37. Oh Linda, I am having a bad day today, and your quotes just simply made me feel a whole lot better. I really loved "whoever angers you controls you" and the "BE SOFT" quote has always been a favorite of mine. In fact, I was thinking of putting it on a post real soon.

That glowing fish video was very cool too. There are amazing creatures under the sea, aren't there? Thank you for shining your light today.

  46. Wow, how did you find the 70 years old how to video? Compare to more current, how to pack your suitcase, it feels like slow motion, and they dressed like going to church or something....I'm saying in positive tone. Thanks for the really nice quotes.
