Monday Melody and a New Poll!

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!
I have added a new poll, which you will find on the right hand column of my blog, right beneath the translator.  Thank you all so much for taking the time to vote in my polls, I really appreciate it!  :)

The videos I have selected for this post are:

A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire

Tortoise is the Star of Walton Co. Nursing Home

Food Lovers Bed and Breakfasts - B&B Ireland

Snorkeling at Secret Harbor - St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands

For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

Keep your heart filled with gratitude for all you have today...there's so much to be thankful for!

If anyone needs me...I'll be in my happy place.

Just breathe today...and trust that everything is unfolding as it should and it's all going to be okay.

Sometimes life's winds can be a blessing that clear away unnecessary debris.

Be strong.  Speak up and refuse to let others hurt you.  In your life, some will discredit you, disrespect you and treat you poorly - for no apparent reason at all.  Don't consume yourself with trying to change them or win their approval.  And don't make any space in your heart to hate them.  You don't have control other what others think about you.  But you do have control over how you decide to internalize their opinions.  Let people love you for who you are - not for who they want you to be.  Or let them walk away.  They can't harm you either way.  It's their understanding that is faulty, not yours.

You can love your body and still want to improve it. These two things do not have to be opposing forces.

I've seen better days, but I've also seen worse. I don't have everything I want, but I do have a lot to be grateful about.  I woke up with some aches, but I woke up.  My life may not be perfect, but I am blessed.

Sometimes you don't get closure.  You just move on.

Find the good.  It's all around you.  Find it, showcase it, and you'll start believing in it. - Jesse Owens

Let your dreams be bigger than your fears and your actions be louder than your words.

Dreams are like stars...you may never touch them, but if you follow them they will lead you to your destiny.

Life is like making tea!  Boil your ego, evaporate your worries, dilute your sorrows, filter your mistakes and get taste of happiness!

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share!

  1. Good morning, dear Linda! I'm still poorly but have come to visit you nevertheless. I also took your new poll. The gag video is hilarious. That porta-potty is used in numerous prank scenarios and the looks on the faces were priceless as the old fellow got soaked by sprinklers. Some people mistakenly call them turtles and it was inspiring to watch the news report about Shelly, the therapy tortoise. With a life span of a hundred years or more, the animal will have the opportunity to bring whimsy and hope to countless shut-ins. Mrs. Shady is part Irish and I will forward to her the video about the Irish Bed & Breakfast. I'm sure she will want to plan a trip there. In 1990, Mrs. Shady and I visited the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Saint Thomas snorkeling video brought back happy memories of our vacation in neighboring Saint Croix.

Thank you very much, dear friend Linda!

  22. I said "yes" to thrift shops because almost all of my clothes come from eBay. I'm not sure if that counts! I find great deals on eBay, plus I can do all my shopping from the comfort of my sofa!

  23. Ha! Love the chalk art. The "happy place" poster is so me. Give me anything with chocolate, and I'm in my happy place. I do occasionally shop in thrift stores. I'm not much of a shopper, though, so I usually go to regular stores, where things are more traditionally organized, so I can find what I want and get out quickly.

  30. Today's gag was really funny! I do sometimes look for things at thrift shops, not usually clothes, but yarn or knitting supplies. I recently found a lot of yarn that I've been using for my Hats for the Homeless project!

  46. Yes I do shop at thrift and charity shops.

However there is one badtrend emerging here where some "bad" shop started to use the word "charity" to get people to shop there whereas the actual amount donated to charity is not much
