Monday Mirth and a New Poll!

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!
This is for my blog readers who didn't see my yesterday's post.  I have added a new poll, which you will find at the top right hand column of my blog.  A quick question, just asking what colour your eyes are.  Thank you all so much for taking the time to vote in my polls!  :)

The videos I have chosen for this post are:

My heart is at ease knowing that what was meant for me will never miss me, and what misses me was never meant for me. - Iman Shafi

I am moving on to better days.

Write hard and clear about what hurts.

Sugar is the sociopath of foods.  It acts sweet...but it's really poison.

Take a break from holding anything for a moment...and share kindness with the world (including yourself).

Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow. - Melody Beattie

On life's journey, it's not about your grand moves, but how much heart you put into each step.

I'm so glad I had a childhood before technology took over.

Being content and having a meaningful life comes from being honest, humble and real.  It comes from sharing our lives by loving and serving and touching the lives of others.

You can choose to subsidize your illness or invest in your wellness.

My worst days in recovery are better than the best days in relapse.

I don't know how people can fake whole relationships.  I can't even fake a hello to somebody I don't like.  (I sort of agree with this but not completely.  In my case, and I am speaking for myself, I often say 'hello' to people I don't like...and it is not to be fake, it is just trying to be kind and civil)

Learn to love without condition.  Talk without bad intention.  Give without any reason.  And most of all, care for people without any expectation.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share!

  2. Good morning, dear Linda! Today you offered not one but two gag videos. That fake cop really gets around and in video #1 he and his partner caught those produce thieves red handed. The looks on the faces were priceless. There were more looks of astonishment in the second video with the creepy moving doll that wrote a "help" message. The report on the educational system in Finland makes me feel ashamed of the American system. U.S. students and teachers trail behind Finland and other progressive countries and I don't see our situation improving any time soon. Today I learned many new uses for vinegar thanks to you, and I was happy to see the shrew responding to food and human kindness.

Thank you very much, dear friend Linda!

  6. Your posts are such a breathe of fresh air, Linda:) And thank you for posting that video on Finnish education. Wow! That would be amazing if we have the same system here in Canada.

  15. That gag reminds me of one of the Everybody Loves Raymond skits ... Raphael today is a little weird but OK. I think it's important to be civil - we seem to have lost that ability today - especially among our leaders. Have a wonderful week, my friend.

  16. technology did change the way we live. Even the way I watch TV shows. I remember years of waiting for something to come on tv, now I just click the show I want and it streams

  17. The one about sugar is fitting, since you know most of us ate at least one piece of candy this weekend!

  18. I agree with that one quote. The one that is not for me will never miss me and the one the has missed me was never meant for me. Lovely quotes as usual.

  21. That is very interesting about Finland. I'm reminded of the joke - What do you call someone who can speak three languages? - tri-lingual
What do you call someone can speak two languages? - bi-lingual
What do you call someone who speaks one language? - English

  22. Ha ha Linda, I have to look into the mirror to check on the colour of my eyes! And I am not sure whether they are brown or grey but I voted for brown!

  24. it's interesting to compare the education system of different countries ... i know the emphasis can be quite different in europe compared to, say, east asia, and it's worth discussing the pros and cons of each system :)

Sugar is the sociopath...I agree but I don't want to give up entirely. I love sweets!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Linda, the sugar quote caught my eye, and I think it's so true. I love sweets, but I stayed away from sugar for awhile to clean my system out, and I couldn't believe how much sugar was in so many foods. I think we do way better and are healthier without a large amount of sugar in our bodies.

I was wondering........why do you have the polls on your side bar, just curious?

    Happy November, friend.

  47. I don't use any chemicals in my home and go through a lot of vinegar. The one with the fruit flies and apple cider vinegar is easier if you just put a small drop of soap in in instead of the plastic wrap. As soon as the flies land they sink to the bottom. I have tried both ways and the soap method works best by far. :-)

If I was in the room with that doll I would be blocks away and never to be heard from again!

  53. Oh my. That JFL gag hit close to home. I always taste a grape before I buy a bunch of them. I guess, if we all do that, it does mean that the store loses a lot of grapes that it doesn't get paid for. But you can't tell by looking whether they're sweet or sour.
