Thursday Thoughts and Pseudogout

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!
Well, I had a pseudogout attack last night.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with what this is, please let me explain.  Pseudogout, like gout, is another form of arthritis. Most of you who have been readers of my blog for quite a while are aware that I have osteoarthritis, am in the early stages of osteoporosis and that I have had several attacks of gout in the past, which is why I am on medication to prevent gout.  However, the meds didn't prevent this pseudogout attack which came out of nowhere last night.  Most of you know, as well, that I love to walk and enjoy a nice long walk.  The pseudogout is in my right ankle, which makes it swollen and very painful. Even walking without shoes hurts, so imagine if I were to put a pair of shoes on.  Yikes!  I will see if it clears up on its own, which I am hoping, but if it doesn't within the next few days I will have to see a doctor.  I have only had pseudogout on 3 occasions in the past, and the last attack I had was over a year ago, so thankfully the attacks are few and far between. Please keep me in your prayers and thoughts.  Thank you so much!  :)

  1. Hi, dear Linda!

I am very sorry to learn that you experienced a pseudogout flare-up. Have you ever tried gel insoles for your shoes? I use them in both shoes and they make walking much more comfortable. I will keep you in my prayers, dear friend.

The gagmeister is going to get socked in the kisser one of these times. Some of those people seemed angry when he stole their drinks and doused his head with them. I appreciated the 10 money saving tips. Mrs. Shady and I have a reservoir style water filter and no longer buy water in bottles. I never eat at fast food places nor do I drop one cent into a vending machine in the course of a year. We do waste perishable foods, however, and that is something I nag Mrs. S about. Contact with a gentle, enthusiastic animal is very therapeutic and the animals love the affection we give them. It's a win-win proposition when you keep animals close to you.

Thank you very much, dear friend Linda!

  6. Hope you are feeling better with that 'gout'. My husband has that all the time, plus he takes pills the Dr. prescribed each day for the gout...he says it's painful and can't stand the bed clothes on his foot at all, let alone shoes when it plays up, which is often.

  45. Oh, tater tots!!! I love it!! And that goes right into everyone needs love :) Those JFL bits always have me actually laughing out loud and that is rare. I remember they used to be on TV here a few years ago in half hour episodes. My favorite was one with a port a pottie where the unknowing victim would enter and while they were inside a crowd would gather around the potty. When they emerged, the crowd applauded with great gusto. In all my born days nothing has tickled me like that. Sorry about your bout of illness. When I first saw that name of it I had no clue what it was. The closest thing I had were the creatures that helped run Cloud City in Empire Strikes Back but I think they were the ughonots or some such. Sending you healing wishes and continued laughs :)
