Mellow Monday and a Movie Suggestion

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!
I saw a video on Saturday, which is available on YouTube.  It is called "The Godsend".  (1980) I thought it was quite a good movie but, rather than spoil things for you all by telling about it, I will just say that if any of you watched "The Omen" (with Gregory Peck and Lee Remick (1976) and enjoyed it, you will definitely like this movie.  :)

The videos I have chosen for this post are:

A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire

Travel Tips:  Packing Cubes

Winter Bird Feeding

7 Shoe Hacks that will Change Your Life

Those Were the Days by Mary Hopkin

For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

Failing is not always failure.

If you're helping someone and expecting something in return, you're doing business, not kindness.

Surround yourself with people who bring out your best.  Not your beast.

Love yourself to health.  When you don't know what else to do, focus on love.  Loving yourself makes you feel good and good health is really about feeling good. - Louise Hay

You are responsible for your own mood, wash away your bad thoughts and negative views.  Others' hate and ignorance is not a part of you.  Just smile and walk away from their hullabaloo.  Stop thinking it's bad, sad or dwell on your anger, those negative thoughts drag your mood down like an anchor.

Just because some people are fueled by drama doesn't mean you have to attend the performance.

Strive to be first:  first to nod, first to smile, first to compliment and first to forgive.

Attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity. - Simone Weil

Eat to fill your stomach, not your heart.

You have to look for the good in the bad, the happy in the sad, the gain in your pain and what makes you grateful, not hateful.

The first 40 years of childhood are always the hardest.

I like living.  I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing. - Agatha Christie

Cheers to all the people who just want to be themselves and don't care about fitting in.

Thank you all so much for being here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share!

  1. Yes, I watched the Omen. 1977, I think, it was. Scared the living daylights out of me. I don't think I would want to watch this one. LOL!!!

  4. Excellent videos. I'm surprised more people didn't react negatively to the lady vacuuming as they ate. I like those packing cubes but my suitcase is always overly full so I doubt they'd work for me except to keep things neat and make unpacking and storing clothes at one's destination much easier. I have to use space saving bags to fit everything into my suitcase when I travel. I haven't heard the song in the video for quite some time. Have a wonderful week.

  21. I'm not sure about those " Packing Cubes ". They might be OK for some people, but not for me. This morning here in Amherstburg, we have heavy fog. Lost night all we heard were fog horns coming off the Detroit River. I was up many times due to the horns & of course going to washroom. Ha,ha,ha. Oh well, that's life.
Have a wonderful Monday Linda. See ya.

  22. Loved the gag. I've seen table vacuums and that isn't one of them. Too funny.

Have a fabulous day Linda. ☺

  23. The JFL gag was, as usual, a hoot. I enjoyed watching that video of "Those Were the Days." The chorus is quite familiar to me, but I'd never really listened to the words before. Kind of sad, aren't they? It reminds me a little of an Olivia Newton-John song called "I Honestly Love You." Not that the two songs are similar, just that they are both a little haunting.

  28. Just because some people are fueled by drama doesn't mean we have to attend the performance---ingenious quote!
some people are really like that...and what can we do but to avoid them?

Godsend sounds like a good movie. Thanks for your recommendation:)

  32. Dear Linda what a great post. Love that song" Those Were the Days" . I had not heard this in years. Brought back lovely memories. Enjoyed your choice of wonderful quotes too. Thank you for an inspiring start to my week. Hugs!

  33. Hi Linda! I hope that your week has gotten off to a good start. I'm just finishing up baking my first lot of Christmas cookies. I had to laugh at the gag video because I've had cleaners at malls and airports be almost that aggressive in their efforts! I enjoyed the music video and packing tips; coincidentally, Terry just got some cubes for us. I can't wait to try them out in combination with the rolling tips. I agree with Agatha Christie; I always say no matter how many tough patches I go through, it is magnificent to be alive. Hugs to you!

  39. Hey, buddy! Sorry for my absence but I've been sick (pneumonia) and I hope I'm finally looking at normal on the horizon.

All your quotes are great today but the drama one and the first 40 years of childhood quote are PRICELESS!!

    Hugs and happy holidays!
