Thursday Thoughts

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all! The videos I have selected for this post are:

I did post a Just for Laughs Gag but it didn't upload properly and I have no alternative...sorry about that. :)

A Scottish Gaelic Christmas - Duan Nollaig

Lodge Owner Politely Orders Crocodiles off the Road

Beautiful Norwegian Christmas Song - Mitt Hjerte Alltid Vanker

Hello - Lionel Richie

For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

I cannot believe someone froze my apples.

I'm not open to many people.  I'm usually quiet and I don't really like attention.  So if I like you enough to show you the real me, you must be very special.

Remind yourself that you don't have to do what everyone else is doing.

Star light, star bright, may you know deep down tonight that everything will be alright.

Don't define yourself by the things that have happened to you.  Those things aren't who you are, they are just what you've experienced. - Shari/embrace your humanity

Happy homes have huggable cats. :)

People with good intentions make promises.  But people with good character keep them.

It's not your job to like me.  It's mine.

It's better to hold out for a soulmate and not settle for a cellmate to share your life with.

One of the happiest moments in life is when you find the courage to let go of what you can't change.

Why aren't breakfast dates a more popular thing? Like...forget your fancy 9 p.m. dinner reservations. Let's go eat pancakes at 9 a.m. in our pajamas.  :)

Are you there, God?  It's me, margarine.  :)

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share!

  2. I've seen the polar bear the apples thing before. Never quite got that. Why would anyone freeze apples and the big block to a polar bear.

  3. Good morning, dear Linda!

Oh, how I enjoyed the Scottish and Norwegian Christmas songs and the scenes of frozen, snow covered landscapes used in the videos. They make me wish that every man, woman and child in the world could listen to them, become filled with the spirit and transformed into kind, peace loving people. It made me very happy to see the video of the lodge owner calmly ordering the crocodiles off the road. Surely there are many other people who would not have been so patient and considerate. Once I was riding in the front seat of a car. The driver, a teenager my age, spotted a possum a few feet off the road, jerked the wheel and tried to run over the critter. The car ran into a ditch and we came close to hitting a tree, all because he wanted to destroy an innocent animal's life for sport and amusement. Obviously that moment has stuck with me almost 50 years and I know I will never forget it. "Hello," one of my favorites by Lionel Richie, spent two weeks at #1 in the spring of 1984.

Thank you very much, dear friend Linda!

  17. I'm not sure about the wisdom of getting out of one's car to chase crocodiles off the road, but I guess it worked for this guy. Makes my skin crawl. :) Regarding soulmate vs. cellmate, I can testify to the wisdom of waiting for the right guy. Doug and I were in our forties when we met and married. He was definitely worth the wait.

  23. Karen Salmansohn sure is right, I read that a lot. Still at times hard to follow... Aww, that bear, so cute, reminds me of poor Knut of Berlin and his late carer.
I got new X-mas-PJs, so, if the pancakes are hearty, consider me in! :-)
