Mid-Week Relief

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all! The videos I have selected for this post are:

Rescue Dog Duke Saves Dying Baby

A Trip to Leningrad, 1929 - Leroy Anderson

John Cleese- How to Irritate People - Banks

Animals for Care Homes

For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

Anything you can't control is teaching you how to let go.

You should tell people how important they are. Always.

We can all do better if we love a little louder. - David Guetta

Being happy is not about what you have.  It's about the thoughts you have.

It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready.  I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything.  There is almost no such thing as ready.  There is only now.  And you may as well do it now.  Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any. - Hugh Laurie

Don't wait for a photo to smile hugely!  Say cheese for all the little things you're grateful about!

And once the storm is over, you won't remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won't even be sure if the storm is really over. But one thing is certain.  When you come out of the storm, you won't be the same person who walked in. That's what the storm is all about. - Haruki Murakami

Relax now, rest, let go of trying to manage the universe...does your heart need your help in order to beat?  Do you need to take thought in order to breathe?  Surrender to the higher intelligence that breathes you and that operates the whole universe.

Your life is calling...it wants you to step out of your comfort zone and live it!

Remember, happiness starts with you.  Not with your relationship, not your friends, not your job.  But with you.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always enjoy and appreciate reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share!

  15. I enjoyed this post very much, Linda. The wonderful dog that saved the baby reminded me of how great these animals are. I have a niece with diabetes who sometimes passes out and she was able to get a specially-trained dog who lives with her and goes to work with her and knows immediately when she is in trouble and alerts he to take the necessary medication.

The trip to Leningrad reminded me of my parents. My dad was born in 1903 and my mother in 1909. They went on a number of trips across country before I was born. I was going through a photo album one day and asked them why the only pictures they took showed them by their car on the side of the road. They explained that the cars would get one flat tire about every hour. So, while they were fixing the flat tire, they would take pictures. I guess that wore them out so they seldom had photos of the sights they had seen! :)

Cleese is always a riot! And you know he didn't swear hardly at all. Ah, for the good old days.

  19. Dogs are amazing animals ~ what a happy story. I found the "Sketches in Silliness" quote powerful, as was the Jackie D-I drawing (so evocative of the North). Have a lovely day, Linda! I'm ahead of you in time for once. Sending you bigs hugs!

  20. I cried, friend Linda about the first video ... in remembrance of my black lab Piwo, who almost always knew a few hours before one of my migraines would hit ... he would stay so close to me, that I would sometimes almost stumble over him ... now I know he wanted me to remind me to take my preventative medication NOW ... RIP, Piwo ... Love, cat.

  21. Hi Linda! Dogs are wonderful animals sadly I'm allergic to them as well as cats :(

Happiness indeed starts within us. It shows your inner glow basking the people around you with this warm sensation. In return, it's kindof infectious and it will definitely spread. Positive thinking begets positive outcome.

  28. I've read a lot about the benefits of animals in care homes, including cats reducing blood pressure simply by being around. Enjoyed the Leningrad trip with the restored car at the end.

  29. Hi Linda, thanks for coming by my blog! Sorry I didn't get back to you before this. Wonderful quotes and videos! Thank you! One of the biggest things a person can do in life, is to truly love themselves, after that, everything falls into place. I finally this January, started to love me! All my lumps and bumps and it is so freeing! No more covering up! Big Hugs and keep being you!

  31. Good dog, Duke! I bet they won't be parents that get rid of a dog because there is a new baby in the house.

I am a big believer in pets at seniors homes. Sadly, most won't allow them because of allergies. There are so many ways around this and the benefits far outweigh the risks.

  32. I love that you included topics about animals here, it's just refreshing because for me, they are innocent being and deserves to be treated well like humans.

  33. Hi, Linda. I liked the video 'Trip to Leningrad'. I learned about Russian poet Vladimir Mayakovsky and his wife Lily Briks. I wonder how they just got to the city when their car was broken all the trip :)
My city is Saint Petersburg, ex. Leningrad and to get there from Moscow you need high speed and good car!

  40. Los perros suelen cuidar mucho a los niños de la casa en especial y como ejemplo te pongo uno que tubo mi hermana el cual no perdía de vista a la niña cuando era pequeña.
