I thought I would use this post to share more about myself, so thank you so much for taking the time to read this. :)
I love brainteasers! Now I am not referring to logic puzzles but logic games, I suppose, you can call them. Perhaps some of you will recognize the ones I am about to list, and that I have played and love. Rush Hour and Shape by Shape. These are brainteasers designed by a company that used to be called Binary Arts but is now referred to as ThinkFun.
If a game or puzzle is too difficult it frustrates me, and if it is too easy I lose interest and it is not a challenge, so it has to be fun but not too difficult, even having different levels. I love Scrabble, and I am pretty good at it not because I have a large vocabulary so much, but rather because I am a very good speller. :)
I love gameshows, especially the classics such as Password, Pyramid, and more recent ones such as Celebrity Name Game. I love classic sitcoms such as Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, The Andy Griffith Show, I Love Lucy and the list goes on.
I find much of today's TV programs to be lewd, rude or distasteful, as I am of the opinion that one doesn't need to use foul language, nudity or violence to be funny or good, and this is pretty much my reason for disliking a lot of the newer shows. I do, however, enjoy watching cooking shows such as the Pioneer Woman, Barefoot Contessa and a few others, but, sadly, even a few shows in this genre have become somewhat racy, (to put it gently), so I avoid them.
I have a wide range of music that I love, and a lot of it is 'before my time' such as the early 1900's to 1950's. I like some classical music but not all, as I prefer soft music as opposed to loud. I like classic rock music, disco, some new age and spa music, and relaxing music with nature sounds. I also love nature sounds without music such as waterfalls, rain, birds singing, a cat's purr, etc. I love nature.
That is enough for this post, and I thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about me. :) If you would like to know more, please feel free to use the search function at the top, left hand corner of my blog and type 'myself' in the box. You will find other posts that I have made where I share more about myself.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all your videos today, Linda. Your posts are always so inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Linda !
ReplyDeleteLove the Candid Camera !
The games you tell are new to me. Sounds interesting!
ReplyDeleteNice to read more about you Linda, I also love nature. Mother Cat Carries Baby Kitten, is very sweet to see.
ReplyDeleteloved the videos and all you .Nature is best friend it is up to us we hold its hand or not
ReplyDeleteBelos e fantásticos vídeos, gostei bastante.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom semana.

Commendable restraint on the owl's part getting pestered so much. It could do some damage with that beak if it wanted to.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to learn a little more about you. I like some of the quiz shows too.
ReplyDeleteFrom the games mentioned, I only know how to play Scrabble. I too love to watch Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie and The Andy Griffith Show. I enjoy watching the videos of the girl & owl and also the mama cat carrying her kitten to her box home.
ReplyDeleteOoo Scrabble! I agree with you on games. There are so many computer games where the computer wins more than it should. When that lack of balance shows, I stop playing. Thank you for the links!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, it is lovely to find out a little more about you. I’m going to check out ThinkFun. I wish I could play Scrabble, but I am dyslexic and struggle with spelling, so Scrabble is really not my idea of fun. You’ve named three of my favourite sitcoms (Bewitched, I dream of Jeannie and I love Lucy) but it’s years since I’ve seen any of them. I’m sure they must still be available in the UK, so I must search them out.
ReplyDeleteDo you get the Great British Bake off with Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood? I love it but sadly it’s moving from the BBC to channel four and Mary Berry is leaving. A you like cookery shows, you would probably enjoy it too.
Hello, Linda, it is nice to learn more about you. I love to watch the I love Lucy shows. The cooking shows are favorites too. I love the videos and the inspiring words. Happy Monday, enjoy the new week ahead!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed learning more about you, Linda! I Love Lucy is a great series. My favorite episode is "Job Switching." Andy Griffith is a great show too, though I haven't watched as much of it as I have watched of Lucy. I don't watch many new shows either for the same reasons.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'm not a big fan of Scrabble because it is somewhat slow-paced, I love take-two or speed scrabble--it is awesome!
Enjoyed your quotes, especially the one about growing with challenges.
Well, my friend, we have much in common. I cannot stand most of the new sitcoms. But I do like Friends, Cheers, Frasier, Becker, etc. My taste in music runs through Sinatra! Cannot stand most female singers today who simply screech for 3-4 minutes and call that singing! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat Candid Camera video is too funny. People really can be fooled so easily...I guess we want to believe. And I'd love to have dinner on that tram...great fun!
Wishing you a wonderful Monday and a wonderful week!
Thanks for sharing more about yourself! I like the Pioneer Woman too. She always seems so down to earth and makes me feel like I could actually recreate what she's cooking.
ReplyDeleteI have just registered to follow your blog posts. I am not much of a TV watcher or a game player. My poison is crossword puzzles and movies. I shall try and comment on all your blog posts.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing a little more about yourself with us today.
ReplyDeleteThanks also for the videos and quotes, I thought this one was good "Worrying is using your imagination to create something you do not want"
Wishing you a good week ahead
All the best Jan
I always enjoy watching those Candid Camera, Linda. so fun! xoxo
ReplyDeleteGood evening, Linda
ReplyDeleteBrain teaser...hmm..i have a love and hate relationship with them. My brain doesn't spin that fast hence need to think long time before i get the answer.
Yup...now tv show have a lot of foul language ..it's as if without foul languague its not "real".
Enjoyed your post. Thanks for telling us more about yourself. The mother cat looks just like a cat I once was owned by.
ReplyDeleteGood video selections today! I'm with you, most of today's tv programs don't interest me....too raunchy for my taste. I, too miss the classic programs from the 60s and 70s.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice learning a little more about you. Your videos were all great. Great quotes and art work. Have a blessed day. Madeline

greetings
So nice learning more about you Linda. And thank you for another wonderful post. Have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteI love learning more about you. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteAwww on the owl and the little girl and that kitty that got transported to their new home. So precious. I linked this post to Awww Mondays.
Have a fabulous day Linda. ☺
Your television shows sent me way back when I was a very young child. The first American comedy show I ever saw had me in stitches, (I married Joan) with Jim Backus, cant remember who Joan was, dead scatty though. I have never come across anyone who remembers this show.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing more about yourself, Linda! I love all kinds of games, especially word games like Scrabble and cryptograms. I play Words with Friends, an on-line scrabble-like game probably way too much! The videos were all great! That was one patient owl, and obviously the little girl had no fear of it. It reminded me of Farley Mowatt's book "Owls in the Family" which I sometimes read to my third graders. I think women should put the quote, "I commit to no longer package myself in order to be digestible by others. - Nancy Levin" on signs and march outside Trump events! Have a wonderful week, my cherished friend! Sending you a big hug!
ReplyDeleteHi, thank you for visiting and commenting on my blog. I must spend some time looking around yours, it looks very interesting.
ReplyDeleteLinda, TV...a frustrating scene for me. I can't stand reality TV...crude, scripted and a waste of my time. I do like some action shows, especially if there's a bit of crime solving involved. As for game shows, my favorite is Jeopardy where I try to answer the questions along with the contestants. Classic rock is my thing although I do like some country, Frank Sinatra and an occasional pop tune. My wife loves HGTV and I watch some of it too, especially home rehabs, salvage, etc. My wife likes Pioneer Woman but I prefer the restaurant/food based shows like Carnival Eats, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dive or Burgers, BBQ & Brew. Love that beautiful owl! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
ReplyDeleteDear Linda always live reading about you. I too live games with Scrabble being a favorite. As well I watch very little mainstream television. Andy Griffith is my favorite. The video of the little girl and the owl was so precious. Love seeing the mommy kitty caring for her kitten. What a huge endeavor to get it moved. Thanks once again for a wonderful post. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny but we really have so much in common! When my mom passed away, my Dad came to live with us...there was so many times where I would watch a program before he did just to make sure it wasn't "too sexy" because I would have been embarrassed......lol. Programs were so good when I was a child back in the late 50's early 60's....now...things have changed to the worse.
ReplyDeleteAnyway. I loved the kitten with her Momma and wonderful quotes!,,,
I love owls, and saw the video of the girl and the owl last week...I wish I was that little girl!
ReplyDeleteI love that quote about others opinion :))) I don't pay attention to others opinions at all and encourage all my friends to do the same. Wishing you a lovely week my lovely friend! Liuba x
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, so many wonderful shares. I always love the Sassy Pants quotes and so many other videos here too. Wow! Lots of fun! I always appreciate your wonderful comments and I enjoy each visit. Thank you for your friendship here. How is your weather? We are hearing some cold, rain and snow are coming our way. Enjoy your week. Hugs, Anne
ReplyDeleteI love puzzles as well!
ReplyDeleteYes, I loved game shows too when I used to watch tv - wheel of fortune, who wants to be a millionaire, all those.
ReplyDeleteI agree that many of the new TV programs and movies are not too good.
ReplyDeleteI have been using the pink guideline pretty successfully, with a little help from your blog, Linda. Thank you so much! XXOO
ReplyDeleteI'm not very good at brainteasers, but my mum is superb. She always has a crossword, a Suduko puzzle or something of the sort to keep her busy. Wishing you a great week ahead dear Linda. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all those lovely videos and wise words!
I love play a game who is named Wordfeud, and it's very much similar to scrabble. Letters and words :)
Hugs
Kiitos Linda niin hyviä postauksia olet laittanut. Kauniita ajatuksia. Myös samaa mieltä uusista tv-ohjelmista en pidä.
ReplyDeleteOikein hyvää viikkoa sinulle halauksiin :)
Hello Linda. It was good to read about your likes and dislikes and I do so aqree with you about the standard of TV nowadays. It's just as bad over here, as is if we are all infected by the same disease. naturally, I loved that video of the Snowy Owl and the little girl. Simply amazing to see the genuine bond between them.
ReplyDeleteHello Linda,
ReplyDeleteNice post with nice movies. That kid with that snow owl is very cute. So special to see this.
Kind regards,
Marco
As always I love Raphael Vavasseur Art :-) though I loved this post I found that pink writing on a pink background is quite difficult to read. I also love puzzles and 60's music is my favourite then the 50's. Have a good week Diane
ReplyDeleteI agree that sadly many of TV programs are quite rude and distasteful. And not just TV, but the whole media. News stories bring more negativity, with shocking headlines to grab attention, and they have no respect for people.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is one of the places that make me feel positive and peaceful :-)
Hi! I like the first video very much. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove this post, Linda! Always love hearing about you! And I think I'll put the Tramway on the bucket list.
ReplyDeleteI scarcely open the TV set these days, so you can imagine what I think about its programs. I'm also not a great fan of games. I prefer the internet as it not only provides a lot of information but also helps me solve daily problems (i.e. - teaches me how to fix a zipper).
ReplyDeleteGlad to learn about you and your preferrences.
Another great post and I really enjoyed the "about me" bit at the beginning! I enjoy the classic TV shows too, and my "Golden Girls," of course :o) That Rush Hour game looks fun too!
ReplyDeleteMe gusto mucho el vídeo de la niña y el búho, a igual que el de la gata transportando el gatito que parecia no tener mucha experiencia.
ReplyDeleteSaludos.
Thank you for sharing a small part of yourself with us, Linda. It is always a joy to read and get to know you better. ^.^
ReplyDeleteThe little girl and owl are quite a pair.
ReplyDeleteGreat to know you more my friend! My mom loves puzzles too! I have to agree with you about tv. I watch a lot of cooking shows too. That owl and those kittens are priceless! Big Hugs and Much Love!
