Monday Picks and a Little Bit About Myself

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!
I hardly ever eat dessert!  I know this comes as a surprise to many people, but I have always been this way.  When I do eat dessert, here are some of my favourites:  lemon meringue pie, fruitcake, homemade apple pie.  I also love Butterscotch pudding.

Although I do enjoy spending time with friends, I love a quiet evening at home and spending some time with my cat, Romeo.  He is 3 years old, black and white, with green eyes and a sweetie.  On my quiet evenings I enjoy reading, watching television, doing my blog and crossword puzzles.  I will keep this short...thank you so much for taking the time to read this.  :)

The videos I have chosen for this post are:

Heathrow Airport Christmas Ad 2016 - Coming Home

Sobeys Star of Christmas

Orphan Meets New Mom and Makes Everyone Cry

Unstoppable Kitten Refuses to Listen to Doctors - Defying the Odds

Rescued Hedgehog with the Heart of a Champion

  3. No really nice Christmas adverts this year but yes, that Heathrow Airport one is quite good. Love that part showing them buying Walkers' Scottish shortbread - I would do the same too!

  6. Hello Linda, puds are the best part of a meal for me - Apple pie and custard, lemon meringue and fruitcake – delicious! I have never tried butterscotch pudding, but I love toffee, so I’m guessing I would love it!
I love quiet evenings at home and spend them in much the same way as you, although I don’t have a pet anymore. I would love another one but my son lives in Australia, and I do like to see him and his family every few years, and I would hate to leave a pet for weeks on end. The Heathrow airport advert makes me cry because it always makes me think of the family.
I'm on my way out now (Christmas lunch with friends) but will be back this evening to look at more of your clips. Thank you for sharing them Linda, have a lovely day x

  9. Thank you for sharing a little bit more of who you are, Linda. I'm afraid I'm too fond of desserts, though, and my waistline tends to show it! :) Another wonderful post with cool videos, especially the Heathrow ad and the various posters. I might recommend, though, that you take down the one with the quote from Rush Limbaugh...he's a notorious drug addict and radio commentator who fills the airwaves with horrible lies, tearing down people and our country. In fact, many of his sponsors have withdrawn their support of his program. Please don't think this is a negative comment on your post, because it's not...just a negative comment about a negative commenter. Hope you have a wonderful week!

  12. Bonjour Linda,

  18. You and I may be the only two people on the planet that will admit to liking fruit cake. Lemon meringue pie was my mother's and is our daughter's favorite dessert. Have a blessed day.

  22. Linda, Desserts...well we avoid them except for special occasions and the Holidays. I am a pie guy! My wife loves pudding! We both love good scones, muffins and coffee cake although technically they aren't desserts!

Your Romeo is much different than our JD. JD rules the house and its all about him! Fortunately he's about 13 so he sleeps a lot or he'd drive us crazy. He has his own room and he expects my wife to put him to bed every night...along with a ritual of snacks, playtime and a massage.

Loved the cute teddy bear sequence... This is definitely a feel good time of the year for most folks. I totally agree that we are personally responsible for our own happiness no matter what our situation is... Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

  24. Hi Linda I am having endless problems with Google freezing on me, I have wasted hours today retyping and rebooting so if I disappear for a bit you know why. I am very frustrated! Love the horse and dog friends, reminds me of my first show jumper Dusky and my Great Dane Rocky. Will try to find a photo for you. Have a good week Diane

  37. Hello Linda, The videos are so touching, the little cat, the hedgehog and the adoption...Every one touched my heart hugely. The little bears are so adorable, they remind me of our shitzu fur babies. ...The little faces...the mannerisms. You have such a knack for picking wonderful videos!

Deserts? That lemon pie sounds really good...Any pie sounds really good! *big smile* I can't do deserts any longer because sugar is extremely toxic to me. The only 'desert' I eat anymore is a stevia sweetened chocolate square form time to time.

I enjoyed reading about your quiet evenings with Romeo, I love that name! He sounds beautiful. Your evenings sound very nice. You gets to dos what ya wants to dos... : ) I like sitting and watching a good old b/w movie many evenings with our pets.

I enjoy your posts Linda, loved that quote on looking in the mirror at that one person. So true...

    Blessings to you Linda!

  41. Hi Linda! Well, I always eat dessert, unless it has coconut or too much fruit in it. I'll eat yours! Lol!
Your meme's hit home again with me today, especially the one about me being responsible for my own happiness. It's been a challenging year, and these weeks are no exception. I should cultivate a joy in seeing my life in spite of it all. That's an important quality to have.
    Blessings,
    Ceil

  47. Odd and I are tea drinkers. I'm more of a green tea drinker while Odd prefers Russian Earl Grey or Indian Spice. I tried this vanilla and caramel tea that I got from my father when he came back from his vacay in Nice. It tasted like candy and it was delicious!

I love lemon pie and cats too!

  49. I go out with friends and family quite a bit but I treasure my quiet time tremendously. Sometimes I think the only reason I go out is because I keep imagining myself sitting quietly on a chair green and mouldy all over.. lol
