Weekend Welcome!

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all! The videos I have chosen for this post are:

Mini Horses Help Calm Nervous Travelers at Airport

African Grey Parrot Acting Like a Baby

World's First Mobile Phone (1922)

Window Cleaners on the Empire State Building 1938

Elephants:  Up Close and Personal - Planet Earth Live

For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

No storm lasts forever.  Better days are coming.

Don't let the fear of your challenges overwhelm you. Face towards your challenges head on.  You're stronger than you realize.  Plus your challenges will help you to strengthen your emotional muscles in new, exciting ways.

My favorite childhood memory is not paying bills. :)

Stop.  Breathe.  Cry if you must.  Head up.  Stay strong.  Fake a smile.  Feel the smile.  Move on.

The worst kind of sad is not being able to explain why.

Sometimes when bad things happen, we learn to appreciate the good things in a whole new light.

The best apology is changed behavior.

I appreciate people who are honest in a warmly direct way.  There's less hurt, stress and surprise battles to be fought.  And more communication, understanding and peace of mind.

I wish more people would understand how much their words affect others.

Silently send people love as you go through your day! Friends, strangers, loved ones!  Beam them with blessings!

When a child learns to walk and falls down 50 times, he never thinks to himself, "Maybe this isn't for me."

Appreciate those who don't give up on you.

Nothing in the world can bother you as much as your own mind.  Others may seem to bother you, but it's not others.  It's your own mind.

Your mantra for whatever happens:  persist.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share!

  1. Good Morning, Linda.
Not paying bills was a great part of being a kid!--and so was not knowing anyone's politics, or the depressing state of the environment or any of the other "grownup" things. I want to go back!!!
    Have a great weekend

  4. I'm a nostalgic type of person. So whatever starts with "world's first...." appeals to me.
Cleaning windows of a high tower - what a frightful job! These cleaners deserve a medal for courage in addition to a fat fee.

  7. Hi Linda, you selected wonderful videos and quotes. I enjoyed the therapy horses at the airport. I do not like flying, something like that would be great at the Toronto Airport! The parrot was very sweet too.
    Have a good weekend!

  10. Well, dear Linda, you hit the jackpot today. I loved the videos - but then I love animals; they make life so much more enjoyable. The mini-horses are beautiful and kind. That parrot is too funny...that's what my kitty likes to do. And we've come a long way in terms of telephones. It wasn't that long ago that car phones where almost as big as this box the women are carrying! Now the window washing - forget it. I have a hard time even watching the video. My "fear of heights" has increased since I've gotten older. Watching those guys turns my stomach, literally. Can't imagine anyone doing that! Finally, thank you for the Salmansohn posters...so many speak to me and my concerns and feelings.

In other words, everything in this post was much appreciated and I thank you for such a perfect closure for the week. I hope you have a super weekend filled with joy and love and lots of fun!

  24. Linda, We have 2 or 3 mini horse farms around here in East Tennessee. They are so sweet! Wireless phone...what's that? Just kidding but I don't carry a cell phone. I had to be in contact/available all the time in my work life and now I just don't like phones. The window cleaners...no way they'd be allowed to clean windows like that any more! Elephants...love them! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

  33. Well Hello Linda! Happy Saturday!

The animal videos look so cute, and I will definitely be back to see them! As you know, our bandwidth is a problem. Just the first still glimpse of those videos though, so adorable. : )

Love the quotes, very good food for thought. The green one with the artwork with the bird is so sweet I think. It's very true as well. It reminds me of a recent Glenn Ford, Geraldine Page movie we recently saw, 'Dear Heart'. Geraldine Page plays a very sweet lady who does just as that little bird. The movie is a bit 50s, 60s racie-ish in a couple of spots so I can't recommend fully but as a whole is delightful.

I hope you are doing well, have a super weekend doing things that you like to do.

    Bless you Linda! : )

  48. "I wish more people would understand how much their words affect others." Indeed! Sometimes it is not what they say but how they say it. Everyone should try to be more sensitive to the feelings of others.
